redcell
I've had two batches of orders cancelled by Target over the last week. The first was when I placed somewhere around 18 orders for the same items in 10 minutes. The second was yesterday and was 8 orders spread out over a few hours for different items.Sent from my SM-G965U using Brickpicker Forum mobile app Sphero droids on door busters and some baby stuff to flip. Eiffel towers. I talked to chat and apparently I have to call and talk to a specialist. Something isn't right Just open a new account. I haven't had to do that with Target since 2015, but it worked perfectly back then.Sent from my SM-G965U using Brickpicker Forum mobile app

When I spoke with them online, they said they didn't have any more of the DA set and couldnt substitute, but could sent me 300VIP points. I'd say you got the better end of the deal on that one. When I tried over the phone, the wait time was very very long. I did the online chat. I guess it’s the luck of the draw when it comes to What you get. lodibricks
Just have to add to the ridiculousness. I often order a max of 2 or 3 of the same thing. I also have 4 boys will often buy a set for me and one for them. Repeating others thoughts, it's comical to compete with Amazon, do mass cancellations, and send everyone to buy from their competition. Not only have we lost the limited-time deals, but the buyer's trust is what they should worry losing most. I have no faith now that anything ordered will come through.
iahawks550
Wal-mart sent me 10 train rides yesterday, then cancelled two Chicago Arch sets.

This looks like a highly calculated decision on WM’s part to limit orders based on past buying history to ensure they won’t run out of stock this BF holiday season. It’s a numbers game, not one of shear dollars, but of consumers. They want more people buying from them, even if it means in smaller quantities and axing massive orders. I hope it is only seasonal. Sent from my iPhone using Brickpicker Forum mobile app That would make sense, and I'd feel much better if this were only a seasonal thing. The trust is still damaged though. It wouldn't be so bad if the cancellations were immediate, but mine were at least 2 days later. You close up your 20 tabs of shopping carts and price comparisons like the deal is done, 2 days later you're cancelled and the price is back to MSRP or out of stock. PeaceBD
I had placed an order for DO last night at Walmart. Chatted with CS this morning and he told me my order was on Financial Hold as finance team wants to assure my financial safety?. It’s up to them once they verify if the item would ship. LegoBro
So your order that shipped was cancelled? Or is this from new orders?

No, my oldest order that was stuck all week finally shipped. All orders after that were cancelled.
cobrakai
I used to have a tax exempt account with Target online a few years back and they suddenly became anti-reseller after some fiasco with some exclusive item everyone was buying up. They stopped taking resale tax exempt certificates and banned our online accounts for a long time if we tried to use our redcard on a new online account. They seem to be more relaxed with this policy this past year and i've had no problems with orders. I'm guessing they realized they took it too far and some of us have spouses that also like to shop Target for personal use and their system checks were cancelling orders on stuff that wasn't intended for resale. They probably lost a good chunk of business by doing that and Walmart will probably figure it out eventually. Hopefully it is a holiday specific problem to avoid all the black friday deals being bought out by resellers. If they wanted us gone, they could simply remove our tax exempt status on Walmart .com and send us all a friendly notice.

LegoBro
Placed an order this morning on my restricted account. 7 units. Just shipped. Could the restrictions have been lifted? Not sure I want to place another order.

By the time I got home to try a Target price match they were OOS.
ravenb99
Don't think it's been lifted. Got my first 2 cancels yesterday. Kind of my fault ordered the same set from 2 days earlier by accident. Didn't even remember the other order. Oh well

PeaceBD
So one of my OFS orders which was placed while they were in stock got changed to “ waiting for new stock” and an email from LEGO Shop at Home with text generally sent when your item is back ordered . Sent from my SM-G965U using Brickpicker Forum mobile app I don’t mind buying through GE but everything does not show up on GE from Walmart. OFS never showed up on GE from Walmart. Also it appears Walmart limits how much you can order. I was trying to order a small set and it would not let me add more than 1 but on Walmart could add over 10 of the same set.
