I just got a notification from Chase about Walmart.  I had to approve the transaction.  That never happened before.

My Bank also contacted me to approve a Asda/George (UK Walmart) purchase. However, it wasn’t a small order, but was the first time for me too! Maybe because fraud is rife before Xmas?

I get called at least 3-4 times by each CC company around this time to verify purchases. I have a terrible sleeping pattern and purchase at weird hours. Generally they say fraud is really common around this time and has a similar large, back to back, purchasing pattern. Easy for people who stole your information to slip a charge in here or there.

Yes, in my business, I hear from 20% of my customers about potential fraud because we use a recurring billing system.  The credit card companies are so sensitive to any unusual charges that they end up cancelling way too many.  It's getting embarrassing for many customers when I tell them their cards were declined or not accepted.

So here’s my tale. I placed an order at amazon for three Apollo’s and three sanctums. Here’s comes shipping day and nothing showed up at my door. I called cos in the morning and she said I refused the order and it was on its way back. Now I know I have sleeping problems so maybe I don’t remember opening the door for the guy and telling him I no longer want the order or just maybe he lied and never came and used this bs excuse. I was actually told it is what it is, at that point I asked to speak to someone more important than her and here comes the hero of the day. The sets were suddenly in route to my house. The delivery driver then proceeded to scan only one of the boxes (the Apollo’s) and didn’t scan the other box. I thought nothing of it. I get an email from amazon saying they are refunding me for the three lost sanctums and sending three more for free for the inconvenience. So six sanctums for 0 dollars. ??‍♂️

So I assumed you called them to tell them that you do in fact have 3 Sanctums already, and they insisted in sending you another 3 and refunding you your money?

just confirming what others have noted - that bn.com is run by complete idiots who are sabotaging shareholders.

i ordered $80 worth of lego to get the harry potter promo.

2 days after it shipped i placed another $80 order.

then the whole order is cancelled.  not just the promo - the freaking whole order.

so i guess i'm done buying lego at bn.com until dec 24th when promo ends.

not too hard to see how this might impact normal gift buying public beyond the reseller scum whom i'm concerned about.

It's time for resellers to unite!

I think we can all stand in agreement as one and say that we would undercut one another for far less. Pirates have codes for conduct, resellers not so much.

The Mob does too.  So what you are saying is that this forum is a wretched hive of scum and villainy?  I beg to differ.  The people on this forum helped save a school the last three years!

Not really a wretched hive so much as a hangout. And yes, I bought raffle tickets to help the school, too.

On a somewhat serious note, I do think most people here are honest and hardworking resellers and collectors who like what they do. I also think we should continue to have conversations about ethics and consider each other as AFOL first. The great thing about this digital space is that it brings so many of us together, but I think some of us forget in all the deals, the buying and selling, that there are people behind the screen, in the shipping center hauling boxes, driving the trucks, etc.
