My Mom still has a couple of the older American girls from the late 80's or early 90's or whenever. I remember thinking it was dumb as I was like 12 or 13 by then, but my sister was like 7 or 8 so she was appreciating them then.

I have friends who are as crazy or crazier about American Girl stuff as anyone here is about Lego, I'm taking $1000s a year on doll stuff. Can't believe how much people spend on kids toys...Oh wait. Never mind.

I have a woodshop in the basement and was going to start making bunk beds for American Girl dolls out of rare hardwoods, but I never got around to it.  I see a lot of cheap wood beds on CL and Ebay.  It might work, if I find the time to do it.
