TheOrcKing Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 A little late with this bit of news but, eh, better late than never. Anyway, an article from Plastics News reported that the Lego company is planning on devising a new sustainable resin to replace its current usage of ABS plastic in its signature bricks by the year 2030. The search for that new resin will not be easy, though. Not only must the selected material be able to meet the same characteristics as the locking building blocks, they must also blend seamlessly with bricks already in children Quote
Guest eightbrick Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 Interesting. They haven't made much of an environmental stance either way other than using up huge amounts of ABS that probably equate to millions of barrels of oil lol. I guess to be fair they did make boxes smaller a couple years ago. If they can perfect the method (and keep quality constant) it would be pretty awesome. Quote
Anakinisvader Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 They should go to pewter. All the "cool" stuff is made with pewter. It's the next precious metal. Quote
