I was surprised too.  They didn't have them for a while, I shop there every week. Today I see a new display box full of minifigs, start smooshing, then look at the price...  tadaa!

Ronda I checked a walmart in salt lake today and the figures were only $2.97

Good to hear.  I didn't check all Walmarts in my area, only one where I normally shop for groceries.  My eyes are 20/20, so no mistake on my side :)

Just laziness...a few Walmarts of mine have that sign right above it.  They had the polybags there before and didn't feel like changing it.

I'm sure that's what it was. Nothing else makes sense other then the employees being a bunch of derps.

Nope, they had some totally different stuff there, like some card games, not even Lego :)

Hey guys,

this would probably be off topic, but I have had some trouble finding sealed boxes on Minifigs 11.

And now there's a retired soon sign on the series already?

What is this about?

Are they going EoL already?

What is your view on the investment value of this set?

Each series of Minifigures has a typical four month run and Series 11 came out beginning of September last year so this one doesn't have much sticking around left. Far as investment goes, typically the rarer ones do fine but then there are also the characters people want more of like army builders. I've been trying to do a write up on each series which is slow going. So far Gingerbread Man, Pretzel Girl, Island Warrior, Saxophone Player, Diner Waitress, Grandma, and Lady Robot have been popular looking at current figures on BrickLink.

interesting - txs

I wonder on their investment appeal.

Don't they say "the minifigs are the deal"?

and it's a nice collection to have them all...

Kind of new to the whole collecting/investing/reselling thing with Legos and was looking for some advice on these. Was able to pick up a bunch of S11 figures the other day. What's the best thing to do with them as of right now? Open them and then poly bag them for future sale or keep them unopened and see what happens. What's the outlook on these? Like I said, I'm new and any info is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance...

The best thing for you to do would be to keep them sealed.  Once they are open, you can't unopen them.  As long as you can make a good case for knowing what is inside, people will pay more for a new and sealed figure.  You can always offer to open them before shipping to confirm the figure's identity.

I don't have the slightest idea as to figure out knowing what's inside. Any tips?

Figure out what pieces are unique to each character and learn how to feel for those bits through the blind packet which is a process we like to call "smooshing". I wrote up a topic about the subject trying to give general pointers for anyone here.

That's pretty interesting. I have a copy of the S11 pamphlet so I'm going to try and make a set and see if I'm right, keeping the others sealed for future use

If you have have a gram scale, it can help you sort the figures before smooshing.  There's just a bit too mush variation in glue, moisture in the pamphlet, etc to ID figures 100% based on weight, but if you weigh them on a gram scale then sort'm by weight -- then start smooshing it's easier since it's very likely identical ones will be grouped somewhat together.

I can get sealed display cases of 30 for aprox. 40 USD. That's the good part of living in South America, seems the LEGO store here wants to finally get rid of their remaining stock of Series 11 (600 boxes still remaining). Has someone experience with this half size boxes? Do they have the same distribution as the 60 boxes, but half of each?
