Lego Boxes/Dividers

Personally I prefer using Plano boxes, in particular I like these:

The lid opens up and you can put about 10 of the smaller Plano boxes in there.  Very useful for minifigures, smaller bits and sorting things like technic parts.  But if you have large collections of regular bricks or large plates, you may want to look at containers that have larger containers.

My personal favorite is the ArtBin SuperSatchel Slimline (sorry, I'm don't know how to hyperlink on the forum).  At about 15"x15", they can hold a ton;  I use them for the part-out inventory, and each one can hold 100+ bagged/sorted minfigs.  There's plenty of containers of this sort that'll do the job, though.  Look in either the craft dept or with the tackleboxes/fishing stuff of any big box department store.  You can find some fun stuff in the hardware department every now and then as well.

Here's what you want to do, though.  Check and see if you have a craft store in your area (Joann's, Hancock Fabrics, Michaels, Hobby Lobby).  Any of those stores will get you inappropriately excited with their variety of storage options.  Prices at all of them are normally a bit high, but every week a section or two will be on sale at 40%.  The websites always have details on the current week's sales.  Or, you could sign up for a mailing list.  All of them send out coupon mailers every couple of weeks with 40% coupons, so if it's not on sale, you can make your own sale.

Or, occasionally you can get really lucky.  Business is outgrowing the ArtBins, so I headed to Michael's last week with a 25% off total purchase coupon.  Storage was 40% off, so after the coupon I managed a bunch of stuff at 55% off retail.  Good times.

Just after Xmas someone found an ornament storage box from Wally World that looked perfect. Hopefully someone that remembers what thread he link was in will chime in.
