I don't know why so many people dislike this set (I can understand investors but not collectors) - it's versatile due to the split build and can be built in mirror form, increasing the visual impact in a display.

I agree.  I built this set a couple weeks back, and really enjoyed it.  It was a fun build, with lots of different variations in the building process.  It's almost two builds in one, because of the two different buildings.  I liked the versatility to display it many different ways.  I probably won't keep the one that I built, but I did like it a lot.

Has anyone in the US got one from SAH, recently? Still the old box design?

yes it is the same old box.

interesting that amazon is giving us a little tip of the hat about this set and tower bridge EOL.  at this point, it would be more surprising if they didn't retire this year.

Architecture Studio is also listed as Discontinued by Manufacturer (along with GE, Fallingwater, Town Hall)...

Apparently T1, Minicooper, and Fairground mixer are not discontinued by manufacturer.

maybe they list it this way so their customers can't blame them for the (hopefully) exorbitant post EOL prices.

I think amazon should standardize there process of labeling discontinued items. I think it would be beneficial for both sellers and buyers alike.

What does "discontinued by manufacturer" mean? I am guessing amazon tried to order more from LEGO and they said it's no longer available. It could alternatively mean, They are discontinued at the end of the year and amazon doesn't plan on getting any more.

With both TB and PS finally potentially going, it's time to cue the "which would be a better investment" posts.

I wish I had a script to move them all to the "what to buy" thread.

Raising my blood pressure.

I have three Pet Shops and a guy on the other side of town is offering me two Tower Bridges in return.  Now, one of the Pet Shops has a slight crease on one of the ends and the Tower Bridge has a slight discoloration on the top.  One Tower Bridge is the old box, one is the new.  It would cost me approximately $5.15 to drive to the other side of town to do the deal.  Plus maybe a couple bucks because there is an In n' Out over there and I just love their burgers.  What should I do?

Eat fries too, with extra mayo.

Make sure you get your burger and fries animal style.

I personally would rather have three Pet Shops than two Tower Bridges. Why? Because I already have enough Tower Bridges and not enough Pet Shops.

I saw some yesterday as well.

Seal code 37R5

When I asked if they were ever gong to retire l was told these were sent to them from Disney (land?discovery? maybe their LEGO brand ruining department?).

The end MUST be near...for the pet shop!

Right??
