One thing people need to keep in mind is that the majority of sets disappear (unofficial EOL) from LEGO S@H around November-December.

Very true especially of late.  The only recent exception I can think of in the US is the Haunted House which couldn't even survive long enough to for Oct 2x 2014 points and that Halloween season.

HH and SSD for sure went earlier in 2014.  I think R5 and ToO went earlier last year as well.  The official Lego line is "we usually retire sets in December..." and that's mostly true, though lately it seems like they should add "... And bring them back in September".

A little bit off topic here, but AoH is our only new SW "UCS" set for this year, right?  I mean, soon we get 75159, which is "new", but...  Someone is really failing in the marketing research department if they think this crap is what AFOL's (whom I assume are the usual purchasers of UCS sets) are looking for.  The only good news is that AoH didn't come with an AT-AT, which is nice for my 75054 stack...

I'm starting to get worried, I bought one Wed from SAH, and I still haven't received a shipped notification... they did say, I got the last one when it was "call to check" I should've heard something by now. I wouldn't think they would cancel my order, worst case put my order in the next run, but it should have been shipped by now...

I bought two on Wednesday from Walmart as well. Two separate orders. I just got my shipping notifications this morning for both orders. Be patient. They will come. For some reason Walmart is extremely slow with this.

edit...just re-read your post. I see you ordered from LEGO Shop at Home, not Walmart. I've had similar situations in the past with LEGO Shop at Home as well.

I doubt this set is remade in 3 years.  Maybe within a decade, but I think it will be safe for a while.  But, 3 years from now, I don't see it having such adequate growth to make it a winner.  So, unless you are willing to hold this one for some time, you might want to put your cash elsewhere. I think once this creeps around 200 sellers, 3 years is going to be the minimum hold time to see it near 2x.  5 years + and you will see adaquate gains.  But in the same time, if you were smart, you could turn 300 into 2500 to 3000 in that same 5 year timeline if you played your cards right on smaller sets.

what do we really think this set will do personally i think a remake will happen in the next 3 years so my question is, what will it be able to accomplish in the next 3 years.

Knowing J.J. Abrams and his "creativity" with TFA, you can bet they're going to be using Ewoks, Jawas, basically everything from the earliest movies and remaking iconic sets but different scenes and characters because it's all about money now.  I mean they didn't even use Kylo Ren properly, and the fan made spoofs and skits do more for his character than anything Disney did to promote him as an interesting villian.  For the kid aspect, you know they are going to use Ewoks, Jawas, probably Jar Jar Binks also. They're going to remake about everything they can I believe.

I've got no problems in holding for long periods but I still haven't pulled the trigger on this at full retail. Like you mentioned that $300 can be put to better short term sets that will make bank. You can say I'm hesitant on this set, probably cause the buy in but high risk high reward to those that invested in SC.

You don't need prime for the discount. Maybe amz got word this is going and want to move them out.

Until it says Discontinued by Manufacturer on Amazon, Retired Product on Shop at Home, a remake is issued, Lepin copies it, and officially advertised as "Sandcrawler is back!", I'm not buying this EOL nonsense.

They need to introduce a new label on LEGO Shop at Home "remake coming in 9 months". Just to avoid ambiguity regarding the "retiring soon" and "retired product" labels.
