I Ain't buying SSSHHHIIITTT!!!!
With all the aggregate negative events from Lego, coupled with Over-saturation of Sellers, I'm bottling up my Greedy-Ass impulse for once.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying this is a Dust Collector, I have 10.
This game has taking a turn or its at the fork, so I'm not going to sink anymore capital until i see greener Pastures ahead.
Good Luck and may the force be with you.

This is usually the type of post that I would chime in on and say I disagree.  But after the events of the past several months, I can understand the reluctance out there to stock up on Sandcrawlers.  That being said....It is my opinion you are picking the wrong set to get gun shy over.  :D

At this point, at least with me, I feel more confident with 50% off City than any of the large exclusives.

Nothing wrong with a quality CITY set, at a discounted price.  LEGO has made some really nice subthemes the past few years....Arctic...Coast Guard...Trains...Undersea...Large Main Street type...and the new Volcano sets.

This set will make money guaranteed, but how long will it take to hit your target ROI?  This one may crawl (pun intended) to get to the secondary market price you want.  As others have pointed out there are probably better alternatives for investment, but you have to do your homework, find a low buy-in price and sell at the right time.

I wouldn't be surprised to see one more run of this thing.  If it does come back and has a decent pop when unavailable, I may try to pick up one or two more.

I don't think making 2.5x on each clearance run is quite as easy as previously stated but if 50% off clearance is available to you, I'd rather go that route than wait for this to hit 2.5x MSRP.  It could do it, but it's going take a while in my opinion.  R2 hasn't done it yet and he is way more popular than this thing.

Not gun shy, I do have 10, But I'm not "shooting" for 20-30 anymore.......Of any set............. Even the Slave1.

Indeed.  But R2 has that dated blocky chunky...well, for lack of a better word, LEGO-y look to it.

R2 is one of the few sets that I trust in. There are fewer and fewer listings on ebay germany by the week. Just wait till comes the tipping point and it will rise significantly.

Unless a remake comes up and I turn out to be wrong.

Gone now in the USA except for the usual damaged returns/cancelled orders etc. Hope everyone got what they needed.

I have a feeling TLG learned from Tumbler and have scaled back production significantly for the slow sellers that are to be retired this year. This will allow for some good pickups this year without much hoarding. Onward and upward.
