Chowren Toys has gotten word that LEGO will be releasing the UCS Sandcrawler (75059) sometime next year and will go for $299.99. The original Sandcrawler (10144) came out in 2005 but there hasn 1 Quote

exciter1 Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 Please please please please! One of my favorite Star Wars vehicles. I'm not sure why that big brown pile of junk appeals to me so much. 1 Quote
MartinP Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 A UCS Sandcrawler and a UCS Slave I rumors for 2014. This is beginning to look like a great year for Lego set releases. Quote
lowillsw Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 Okay...time to break your piggy bank for some R2D2 if that's the case. 1 Quote
@rtisan Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 Awesome! Still haven`t gotten a copy of the original, though it does look pretty sweet. Wonder how the value would hold up if this turns out to be true. Also, It`s says "Slave 1 UCS" near the bottom. What!?! That would be amazing! Quote
MartinP Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 The release period for the sandcrawler would be great. Near my birthday! Now I know what I might get. Quote
TheDarkness Posted December 12, 2013 Author Posted December 12, 2013 Okay...time to break your piggy bank for some R2D2 if that's the case. I started already. It has been out for over 18 months. Quote
lowillsw Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 I started already. It has been out for over 18 months. Mark my words, that's the only set someone should pour their $$$ of all the sets available. You don't even have to think about it. 1 Quote
stinger-311 Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 Just something to think about. All UCS SW sets start with 10... so why does this have a set number that would denote it just being a normal large set. I would like to see this set again even though I have the orginal, just number seems suspect. Quote

It would probably be fine - its already stopped growing anyway. I am pretty sure the smaller of the other UCS sets haven't necessarily been killed by the larger - although most of those came out after I guess. 6211 ISD, 10198 Tantive, etc. Quote
jaisonline Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 I will ga-ga over a UCS sandcrawler. I already own two 10144s. I'm a Jawa fan. Own a vinyl cape carded Jawa, have a working 1978 sandcrawler first shot / prototype with remote, taught my son how to give Jawa hugs while taking jawaese (eg utini), and my next dog will be named Jawa. How cool would it be if power functions could be easily added. Quote
segreto Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 Awesome. I love anything with SW and droids and those little ninjas with glowing eyes. I hope it is remote controlled. Only thing higher on my wish list is a UCS Power Droid. Quote
spener90 Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 Gotta go change my pants, brb. I just wear breakaways... Quote
Sauromosis Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 Thanks very much for this thread...you just saved me hundreds of dollars and possible 41999 crawlers in a trade. I'm deleting the old sandcrawler from my Ebay Watch lists...no way in hell I'd buy the old one given this new news! Quote
lego rules Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 I don't understand the numbering. If it is going to be a UCS then I believe it would be the first with a 75#. One the other hand, maybe it is just a regular set and not going to be a UCS? If so, the price couldn't be $299. I guess we shall see. Quote

It probably isn't a UCS set, just a large regular STAR WARS set. $299 for a set of this magnitude would not be enough in my opinion. I would think that a properly done UCS Sandcrawler would be in the $400 range...at least...maybe more. Quote

I'm deleting the old sandcrawler from my Ebay Watch lists...no way in hell I'd buy the old one given this new news! Its not news by any stretch.. no guarantee this happens. And as seen with the new Barge, there is certainly no guarantee this will be a better set. Quote
Fcbarcelona101 Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 To me, a properly done Sandcrawler would mean that it can actually hold at least 3 Jawa sized humans inside. 1 Quote

Or so you can get inside it, give it to a friend as a gift, and then when they are asleep, ravage their families of all Lego sets. The Trojan Sandcrawler!!! Quote
Grolim Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 A UCS Sandcrawler would be great. Hopefully a true UCS and 5,000 pieces for around $400. I missed out on the original Sandcrawler unluckily after paying for one and getting scammed on Ebay (many moons ago), I'd love to have another one come out as I just can't bring myself to pay current prices for the old set. segreto Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 That is going to be a lot of brown tiles and plates. Should be great to part out, too. Quote
boxofcorey Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 I know it would be the 4th(?) edition but can we please get a better, updated AT-AT as well? Quote
