TRU will give you 10%

I was given 20% all inclusive coupon one time after I went " crazy " on them .

That was after they sent me a crawler instead of a unimog ( they substituted it), an open- yes open- HD, pancake cavalry builders to mention a few

crawler instead of a unimog

LOL

That makes me nervous as my 2 from tru are scheduled to arrive on Friday. Please let me know if they give you any kind of discount

I made a call to TRU, and the representative said he opened a case and specialists will contact within 7-10 business days.

I know that the easiest way is just returning them to local store, and purchase them from LEGO Shop at Home. But two orders on LEGO Shop at Home are in process status right now. I'm not sure buying more from LEGO Shop at Home is smart move since I don't want to get a ban-hammer badge. ;-)

Appears to be back on LEGO Shop at Home but most of LEGO stores i called were out and it appears the big box stores, walmart, target, etc...are sold out online as well.

My guess is the set isnt ready for retirement yet but certainly nearing the end. We probably have 3-6 months left of what we saw GE go through, going from sold out, to in stock to back ordered multiple times a week,

Think SSD...

SSD was a 2011 set that by the time of EOL had already exceeded the normal life span for Star Wars exclusives that aren't 10188; TH is a 2012 set that is two years short of what appears to be the "new normal" life span for a modular set, going by the performance of FB and GE.  I would be tempted to believe you have inside information about TH, except that your cryptic comments about it started after the set was already sold out everywhere (I reread this thread to confirm that).

Posting here because I want everyone on the Town Hall thread to know ....

My 2 Amazon TH's ordered yesterday morning delivered in almost 24 hours via Fedex for free shipping of course

20lb box, was minty box, extra packing and both Town Halls are minty fresh (we love that saying don't we?)

Codes on both are 25R4 and hope your TH's from Amazon are as nice as mine

Super pleased

Think Ed Mack...

I don't understand.  Is Ed Mack retiring soon?  Should I stock up on brickpicker posts now before the whole site goes EOL?

Anyway, here's the thing.  If I owned this site, and if I had inside information that TH was retiring this month, I would leak that in the forums before it was already sold out everywhere.  Then I could 1) build my rep with a bold, early call on EOL for TH, and 2) generate some affiliate income by sending brickpickers out to the 'net to pick up TH sets before they disappeared.  But his comments came after the set went out of stock everywhere.  Hence my skepticism.  For that matter, Ed didn't actually claim to have inside information.  What I've seen is a combination of Ed's opinion (TH is EOL or close to it), and your interpretation of it (Ed's right, and he has inside info to prove it).

For what it is worth I have never said Ed has inside info.

I say his track record is proven and I'll go with his opinions over others.

If not right now, it will still retire and be fine soon enough.

I also would never interpret Ed's motives to be related to affiliate link throughs. Ever.

Yes it is a help but he didn't acquire his warehouse of Lego from that.

Trek, man I gotta believe even Ed himself is a little bit overwhelmed by your faith in him...

Well it's a point of view.

That being said I would be highly insulted if I was theorized to whip up excitement for my own image gain or for the sake of benefiting from affiliate click through links.

But that is just me.

Perhaps I am the only one who believes Ed is fully on track.

If not, perhaps there is a silent majority.

It is all quite strange.

Everybody nothing could be further more from the truth.

I apologize if I have seemed over the top on anything or for my support of Ed, Jeff or Brickpicker.

I thought many people had a high level of confidence in Ed's ramblings.

I am happily married of 24 years with a wonderful family.

My family and I discovered Lego's 3 years ago and it has been a wonderful trip for all of us.

I bought into Ed's comments over the last couple of years and generally thought he has always been spot on like a good Stock Investment adviser.

Nothing more, nothing less.

I was trying to defend him from the vitriol on the other side, when he can defend himself as he sees fit.

In this regard, I shall tune out.

Decide on your own what to do with Town Hall.

Thank you.

trek, I'm sorry if I offended you.  That was certainly not my intent.  I did get the impression you thought Ed had inside sources, simply from your faith in his opinions.  If he doesn't have inside sources, then he's just speculating like the rest of us.  I only post my own opinions so people can attack them (if the attacks have merit, then I learn something; if everyone always agreed with me, I would learn nothing).  I would also add that I was not saying Ed had whipped up a TH buying frenzy to generate affiliate sales.  Someone else suggested that a few pages back and Ed replied, sensibly enough, that there would be no point in doing so after the set was already sold out everywhere.  I was only describing a hypothetical case of "what I would do if I owned the site and had inside info".  I specifically said that was not how events actually transpired in this case.

Guys everything is fine.

Its ok.

But I do see the point that I set myself up to be picked on by trying to defend someone who certainly does not need me to defend him.

So in that regard the topic is done and we can just move along move along...

I mean the best for BP, everyone on it and want everyone to succeed. :)

The last time Ed warned us that a set was on its way out was the SSD.

I, like many others, took Ed's advice and loaded up as soon as we could.

That advice, and the decision to trust him, helped me and others build a cornerstone for our portfolio in the years to come.

Town Hall is following a similar trend. Any set that retires early like this can yield huge returns. Ed doesn't need to say anything else. He has spoken.

Now go buy some more you vulchers!
