toycrazedchris
Grabbed one today and lego store and 26r4... This just made me go look at mine. Most of mine that I have easy access to have seal codes others have reported with R2 or R3 but I have one visible sealed case (of two sets) labeled 140622 from Mexico. Seems to confirm a fairly recent production run in 2014. I think these were from TRU right after the Staples 25% off GC deal. jerryherb
Amazon will still have them for sale as soon as they address all the damaged crap, at least more than a handful as warehouse deals. i got 3, and if they are indeed EOL then great, if not then even better... newbie77
still makes that run over 3 months old Unless someone reports code from LEGO Shop at Home it's most likely that walmart target amazon all may have had sets from older lot. It's less likely that there would be regular folks buying 100s of sets to build :D
GhostDad
Orthanc had a limit of 2 from the start. AA used to have a limit of 5, now it's down to 2, and folks don't seem real excited about that. The point being, you have to consider all the evidence. TH is a highly rated set on LEGO Shop at Home (unlike past early retirees like the UCS B-Wing), and retirements out of order are very rare. Just sayin'. Way too many folks are taking this EOL debate personally. Edited October 4, 2014 by GhostDad
labfreak7
Don't really like the size or rrp of this set, so i dont have any. I buy the sets i like, and when they go EOL then great. I won't lose sleep over not having this or SSD. I like the variety that I have, and believe that my investments will prove to be lucrative. No regrets not getting this one. I hope it is retired if it helps you guys who bought them.
beatpoppa
I found a potato shaped like the TH just now at the supermarket. This set is EOL.
GhostDad
I ate at a French restaurant last night. And Lego makes a Parisian Restaurant modular set. I asked my waiter if he thought Lego would keep making that set and he said "I have no idea". If that's not a sign, I don't know what is. Time to load up on PR's...
allen9917
Assuming TH is done, I would not regret at all coz at the end of day, who saw it coming anyway. But the lesson here is to take another long and hard look and think of all the exclusives, which one would make me kick myself if I don't have at least 20-30 of them. If it is over 2 years old, it's time to make space for them and pile up. To me, that set is AA. Next time, the shame is on me.

Either that's because of the collusion and/or demand not sure but either way we have to be creative and make best out of what's available. Now best deal would be around 10% off via VIP points and promotional items making it about 15-20% depending on the price of sets. May be discounted gift card might make TRU a little more attractive but again their shipping and packaging is not really great so I don't want to take much chances with them any more. ChristopherJB
If you buy TH now, you will be stockpiling a bunch of 24 x 20 x 4 inch boxes, and have to keep them for two years before they even begin to appreciate. That's assuming a standard EOL schedule for TH of course. That could certainly be wrong, but there's no particular reason to think it is. With the right rumor on this site and others like it, any 2014 release could be made to show all the signs of EOL within a day or two. Ultimately, of course, investors would lose that race against mass production. Exo-Suit may be shaping up along these lines. And in the past there have been plenty of times when 10188 was briefly hard to find online, only to live on for years. 6860 disappeared everywhere last Christmas, and that was clearly somewhat in advance of actual EOL. I remember a little while ago someone posting that FB's annualized return was not really so great, and someone else pointing out that it only looked mediocre if you measured it from the release date in 2009. If you bought FB last Black Friday, you did pretty well indeed. That's the difference between buying years early and buying just in time. If you pick up TH now, you take a big risk of falling into the former category. There are more reliable bets out there (in terms of approaching EOL; I have no problem with the TH set designwise). Those are very good points. I have a couple of these and don't feel like buying more. The boxes are taking up a lot of space. The FB and batcaves do serve as good examples of how the TH may behave. If we trust the polls here, it's pointing at a 2015 retirement. That's the most logical thing for lego to do. The current modular lineup does not have something in the wings to replace the TH. the PR is going to replace the emporium. I rather watch this on the sidelines. If you miss one set, there are others any of us can chase. Those who missed the HH, no biggy. Every year, something is retiring.

trekgate502
If you were here for the SSD and you remember what Ed Mack said then it was almost identical. Direct and to the point without actually coming out and saying directly it is retiring now. He owns brickpicker. This has happened before and it will happen again. IMO Ed does not say something like lead a horse to water and can't make him drink unless he means it. If you do not see it or your too new on BP to know it, sorry your loss. I'm confident it is on its way out now, I may be wrong but it is a bet I will take.
jerryherb
Yeah, and your point is?? so far from what i gathered there have been 4 runs of this. 1) before march 2012. 2) 37R2. 3) 46-48R3. 4) 25-26R4. Unless TLG realizes high demand of this set and makes another run soon it appears we are looking at mid R5 if at all. take it for what its worth, 2 cents ______________________________------____________ dont drink an type... GhostDad
SSD and TH can't really be compared in terms of EOL predictability. Going by the normal Star Wars exclusive retirement dates, SSD would have been expected to retire last Christmas, one year after the Imperial Shuttle. So any time after that was a pretty safe call in terms of pending EOL. Predicting that SSD would nearly double in price within a few months of EOL was a more impressive call for anyone who made it, but not particularly relevant to TH one way or the other. Trust me - I'm not concerned about some of my investments that have/are behaving like this, this month (I'm looking at you, HH, because I've got plenty of you).

When some pictures of that Detective Agency will be leaked, if we find that walls look a little like the TH (oldish, brown/dark red with grey angles) it could be considered as a clue about TH's retirement. So here is another reason to wait for that Detectice Agency. (after the fact that I'm very curious to see another lego modular: I want to have my mind blowed like the last year with the PR)
