Hello everyone,

I`m 38 years old and out of my dark ages since 9 months (VW camper did the job ;-)). I`ve been following this site since. And I love it. The new app keeps me up to date but also strongly hooked to this site.

I tried to make some investments into Lego and I must say it has been fun (although i did not sell a single set! I know !!!). I guess I`m a small investor. I mostly by two items and hope to fund my hobby, therefore probably asking to much for my sets. Next to that I have emotional problems selling some of these wonderful sets,  especially when I have only one set.

Sadly enough I `m  collecting more than I`m building now at the moment. I find that sad because I love building Lego`s, but with this whole investing thing I dare not to open a box and build it. Reading this site I see that a lot of you have the same "problem" ;-). How do you guys cope with this temptation :-)? The waiting

Welcome to Brickpicker!! How do I cope with the temptation to open a set? I buy two or more of the specific set I want to invest in. I build one of the sets to keep for myself and use the rest for investing. It helps me because I want to build every set I invest in.

Welcome. I also build many sets, so I ensure that I have enough in my stock to build one.

For the sets that you have limited stock of, if you don't look at them you won't be tempted to build them.

If you don't want to be tempted by a set, just put it in the closet and you won't see it.

Hello fellow belgian!

I think the whole coping part is the catch in this too good to be true investment world.

Lego must be one of the only investments where you are tempted every day to use them, as opposed to things like stocks etc ...

Buying multiples is a good remedy I suppose. I'm lucky, the more sets I have stored, the less tempted I get because of how nice they look all together.

I have no problems keeping my sets closed, its my son who wants to build everything.  If he is having a bad day or not in the best mood I just go in his room and give him a set to open, works great !! I told him that I plan on getting 4 kashyyyk battle packs and he wants to open them all!!! I told him two! That is the one set we are excited for right now. I just wish I had more money to spend on lego so I can get it home and keep it closed!
