ChristopherJB
Do you think I'll have issues with TLG if I pick more up. I've read about the banning of accounts on here but with that said this is the first time I've bought this many of one set. Also I'm paying full Canadian retail so the FB numbers aren't as impressive to me (ATM) as it is for Americans. I find Canadians a bit strange when it comes to lego and Collectibles. When the SSD was out of stock, it was still there on TRU ca for $499. Two days ago, it was on target for $499USD and over 150 got sold in 24hrs. $499USD plus state tax is way more than what you pay up there if you include currency rate. The GE is going for $200USD already and not retired on eBay. If I saw the GE at $200 CAD, I'd take everything out. Someone is bound to hit that lego store and make that smart move. Perhaps the fear is lack of interest in lego in your city? Double check and see if they have SSDs. I bet the FB is back in storage somewhere. Better yet, there's a good chance the Maersk train and green grocer is in the back too. I'll take them both at $800. ChristopherJB
You seem a bit worried. As another poster mentioned, go with your own plan, but don't come crying this time next year when it's selling for $350-$400. The FB is only EOL for six months. Wait till you see what happens right before Xmas. Sent from my iPhone using Brickpicker
speedsausage
I'm just having a hard time pulling the trigger on purchasing that many of one set. I do have 4 but I'm new to the game and I haven't even sold anything on eBay yet. That's how new I am.

Your next target would be the pet shop if you miss the GE. You do get a polybag shredder if you bought the GE at the lego store. Get at least $10 reimbursed right there after fees and shipping. Also a chance to build eBay feedbacks. Sent from my iPhone using Brickpicker

Sent from my iPhone using Brickpicker I, for one, had no problem picking up a SSD for retail, nor do I have issues with the GE, for me, it's about spreading out the resources.. Each pay, I was picking up a HH, GE and a CV.Just to build reserves.. But with a higher retail price and less advantage to eBay (ie, if an American buys it, shipping will be huge), Canadian's may not see the same insta-flow that Americans would. Basically, you have to wait till the price you want to get for a set is under enough to compensate for shipping (or sell locally, which sucks because local ads are treated like garage sales) So, while I don't know about the rest of Canada, at least in Toronto, there are no FB or Maersk trains hiding in the back.. Although TRU.ca have a ton of UCS B-wings still.
ChristopherJB
If you're in Toronto, you're probably in better shape in terms of selling to the secondary market for all kinds of sets. Local ads can be seen as garage sales but the same people looking also look through eBay. Stand your ground on the prices and tell them the price is firm. This is a big set and requires less running around looking for buyers. Beats trying to sell friends and some city sets in small loads. One GE sale can equate to ten small sets. peenutz
The reason why people like speedsausage isn't picking up every GE is probably because the Vancouver market is flooded with Lego. For example, supraboy is based here and he's selling exclusives 25-50 dollars cheaper than Canadian msrp after taxes, so when there's a need we can just buy from him! Lol Sent from my iPhone using Brickpicker

Just scanning craigslist daily shows that, but i guess i should be crossing the border when the americans have sales so I can stay competitive in the future. I think most people will tell you that you still got plenty of time on all the sets that were released from 2013. So I wouldn't buy Palace Cinema just yet. No R2-D2? no Super Heroes stuff? and no Friends? I think you should get some Super Heroes and Friends stuff for Christmas flipping to earn some quick cash. My bad, I should have been more specific, these are for long term investments not flipping so much (except maybe the mini). I know there is no hurry on most of these, just a list of priorities. As for R2D2, I just for got to add him. No way Im not picking him up, at least one anyways.

Alpinemaps
Why would the sea cow be after the mini, which isn't even out yet? I'm going to guess its because not too many people are high on that set. speedsausage
Why would the sea cow be after the mini, which isn't even out yet? Just more of a personal preference, I'm a fan of those sets. Also at this moment, budget restraints. A little more economical for me to pick up some minis. Remember, I'm not doing this at the scale most of you guys are. I class myself as a collector first! ChristopherJB
Surprised not to see the MKII crane on the hoarding list. Just check the unimog prices now. Even a simple technic set that has an MSRP of around $100, after EOL, I've sold easily for a double.
