Legodog
In my opinion moderators (or whoever has access to this info) have an advantage over other investors. Sure not all the info may be 100% accurate but you can manipulate it in order to eliminate some of the errors or fake data. I for one would love to have access to this data. Creating a site like this allows them access to invaluable information that some day they may share with the rest of us Sent from my iPhone using Brickpicker

But then, this is the Internet. Of course it is correct.

We would ask about this type of information in the forum like any other member. Ed and Jeff have shared some of this information (see previous post re: GE) with the community. They may in the future, or they may not. It's completely up to them.
Alcarin
There is no way to verify your Brickfolio, but we have had many instances in which a member put in crazy amounts of sets to throw off our data on the homepage or information about what members are "hoarding." For example, one person wrote they had 200 10179s. Highly unlikely. It is annoying. The situation today might be a different scenario in which the member actually had the amount posted in their Brickfolio. If the number is legit, then you have my apologies and wonder why the farts do you have so many of this one set? Sent from my iPad using Brickpicker I think I predicted this a long long time ago
Ed Mack
have you ever thought that people might be suffering from OCD and or MD. and only thing that may soothe them is legos and they tend to stick with what they like. or may be i am the prick who don't know what to buy with all the inheritance. hence clicked buy button like 1000 times which happened to be GE. seems like it does matter to you the information. so what are you doing with that? selling it ?Sure it matters. We put information on the homepage about Brickfoilios. I would like to believe people are inputting valid information that could be released to the entire community. If people want to be a smart ass and taint the numbers to a large degree, we will find them. I am not talking about small errors or mistakes. This is the sort of data that members would want to see and we want to make it as legit as possible.

That is my point. The Brickfoilio data will become very interesting after Jeff releases the new version. The Brickfoilio data will become very interesting after Jeff releases the new version. This is data that could be available to premium members, in addition to a bunch of other extras. The problem right now might just be that a regular member sees no point in entering correct (or any) data. There might be an impact in the new version, but that is nothing a regular member sees currently. Or in other words: a regular member has no incentive for these data to be correct (or present in the first place).
tonysbricks
TIME OUT I already cop-ed to the offense in this thread and PMed Jeff and Ed an apology, but since this is spiraling out of control I want to address it head on. In the past when someone has asked for numbers Jeff has jumped and provided them. Since someone asked this morning I figured Jeff would run a report. So I thought it would be cute to leave an inside joke easter egg for him to find. I added 800+ GE to my portfolio with a note "Totally not fake". I expected he would see it, giggle, exclude the amount and that would be the end. After seeing the firestorm this has created I completely understand why Ed threw down the warning. I am truly sorry for the out of control discussion this has caused. It was supposed to be a little inside joke and it's spun way out of control. I messed up, I take responsibility, so if anyone is upset about this topic you can direct it at me. I appreciate that Jeff and Ed are protective of the data and try to at least bring sanity to what can sometimes be an insane forum. Please, for the love of god, let the bad data topic die. I doubt you will see specific member data even with Premium. I bet it is aggregated data across everyone's inventory. The value is in the number of ways you can do the aggregation. Sent from my iPhone using BrickpickerThis is not a topic that is taking high priority right now, but it will. Maybe I was a little harsh in my warning, but I didn't mention names. But my point remains that we want people to be honest as possible with their inputs. When members ask for information, we do our best to supply it to everyone and as accurately as possible, as I did when I stated that the GE is more popular than the FB by around 10%. There is some data that is withheld for various reasons, this is not really one of them. I can't recall the thread, but I believe I gave the Top 5 or 10 sets in members Brickfoilios months ago. Does it really matter though? The Fire Brigade was hoarded by more people in the history of this site and it has almost doubled in value since EOL. So much for over saturation of the market. ;-)

Guest TabbyBoy
Seriously, now that I have the space, don't be surprised to see 99x something appearing in my Brickfolio if it's a good set during a promotion. I'd have done this for Mars Rovers several times if I could. Regarding the GE going EOL, I've heard from another source that the Pet Shop is likely to retire first due to disappointing sales.
