For all who lives in europe check the shop online, maybe GE is gone today

You can still order 5 in the UK for 22JUL ship date which tells me that the conveyor belts will be running again soon for another load.

Isn't the Wolverine in the new set different? I thought the color scheme was different or something. I guess that is something to consider....you need to know what sets are coming up next to see if they will have the same type of figs so you can unload them if they will be released again and hurt the value of a set you may have.

Different, yes, but not as big of a difference as a white batman vs black suit batman. There will be more magnetos coming in the future, maybe different, but if there's a white magneto, I'll jump all over that. :)

Why are people discussing Batman sets on a Grand Emporium thread... Any chance we can get back in topic?

Sorry about that, it started from a few pages ago when someone listed sets to own and invest. :)

I was in San Diego last week, no emporium anywhere, also flew up to Seattle, none up there either. None in Maryland. I have a feeling the next batch will come from target at that listed price of $229, add state tax and we'll be paying $250 or so. That's how much it goes for on eBay so target has it figured out. Just look at the SSD, $100 above retail at target on Thursday and it sold out fast.

So $250 is now the base for online purchases. This seems to fly higher and faster than the FB. Is it possible the GE goes higher than the FB in Xmas? I think so. FB was heavily hoarded, but the GE wasn't. I was looking through some FB threads here and the hype around that is much greater than the GE.

Maybe the increased number of fans and investors bought up available GE's this year.  Those that are new or just missed out on the FB decided this is my chance to stock up on a modular before EOL.  There's a new 'investor'/hobbyist every min it seems.   Hard to see the GE's eclipsing the FB so quickly...maybe at best it will be at par 1-3yrs down the road but I just don't think this soon even if folks like GE more.  I'd would gladly trade GE's for FB's now :)

Love to be wrong and see GE's value go $350 by xmas if it's indeed sold out/retired.

There were some in Maryland on Thursday. I hit Arundel mills, I bought two and left one on the shelf. I think they had more in the back I'm hoping Christiana mall has some tomorrow for me

Some say people who missed the FB would stock up on the GE, but I'm in agreement with you.

I believe the FB was stocked up more. While FB was still around, people kept on stocking up waiting for it to retire. After FB retired, we had only a 7 month period to jump on the GE yet people left this on the shelves and didn't jump on it. I still believe many are overlooking this set at the moment. I stocked up on the FB and wish it would go higher but I think the GE will outperform in Xmas, just wait and see.

I would agree. I think the GE took a backseat and honestly I didn't hear it mentioned a ton until the FB was gone.

And now, we see a late mad rush for this. The FB had at least a 12 month mad rush starting from speculations in late 2012 where the hoarding began and ended in the end of 2013. This only had a 3 month hoarding period as the focus was still on the FB until March. If the GE is retired in the next two-three months, the price will spike fast and outperform the FB. Too late to those who are pondering and missed the boat in the GE.

I do get the impression we're close to the end with the GE in Europe.

Most shops haven't restocked for a while and now LEGO Shop at Home in most countries is also running delayed orders.

It would make sense to see this set retired around this period too if you count the launch date of 2010.

Also, bear in mind that GE wasn't available from amazon for $110 for months like FB was.

That's where I got most of mine

I missed the boat and I'm bummed. Got to start getting the Pet Shop now. I guess when you first start investing in something you always miss out on something. I'm bummed!
