Seeing as it has left par well behind and is headed for 85 cents US soon, I have to say this is a very good time to be selling into the US market. That's a 15% increase in profit after converting the buyer's US dollars into loonies with no additional work required. Almost makes up for the gap in retail store prices on the 2 sides of the border.

I changed a few listings that I had in CAD to USD.  And that USD that is sitting in my paypal from the Christmas selling season is worth a fair bit more.  Score!

I buy a bit online from the US and have it shipped to my wife's parents in NY. Recently during a Paypal checkout i found myself saying "Really? it's that much in CAD? hmm". Have been selling quite a few items south of the border though, so that's nice.

More then anything else, it`s nice to see things even out in (slight) favour for we Canadians up here. The economy can be great for people who know how/are able to play it properly, but one major concern is everyone else. For now this is nice to be able to make some more money, but yes, I`m hoping it will balance out again in due time. If the US goes down, Canada is going to following eventually, and I`m sure everyone here would hate to see that. Just be careful, play by the rules, and you`ll end up sitting pretty

One thing to keep in mind is that the last time the dollar rapidly depreciated, the price discrepancy between US retail and Canadian retail widened. If and when the dollar recovers in the future, the gap will narrow but will take considerably longer to do so.

For consumers, this means the best deals will be had in the next 6 months before the next production starts (when prices will go up for imports).
