stackables Posted October 10, 2014 Posted October 10, 2014 Then I will pass. Not interested if there is not even a chance I will double my money. On the minifig trading scene, from my experience they haven't been too popular. I think it might have something to do with once you get 1 complete set, there is really no reason to get more. No army builders. Most simpsons fans just get 1 complete set and be done with it. Quote

That's what I am going to do. Get a complete set for personal use, but I just don't see any investment potential. Quote
mattgang Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 The local walmart still has a case of these at 3.97 each. Anybody have any idea if they will clearance them? I only have a Mr. Burns for personal reasons. Should I go buy the rest of the case? I like the Simpsons, but I'm not sure these are going to be worth much long term. Quote
obradkenobi21 Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 Do you see The Simpson mini figures as being able to make money off of? nerdinout.com Quote
nolanfan34 Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 I don't even smush them, I am just randomly buying a handful here and there. If they release a Series 2 as rumored, Series 1 is a lock success. Quote
Migration Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 I've done very well with them, but I got all of mine for $1.48 at Target. If you are planning on holding long term the best thing to do would be to buy a sealed case or two. If that's above your budget try and find some in the wild and smoosh out at least one full set. Alpinemaps Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 Man, I hope so. I have a few smooshed sets, plus a box sitting here. I'm tired of having them, and want them gone. Quote
johnwray Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 Maybe this has been discussed somewhere already, but Series 1 is 'Sold Out' at LEGO Shop at Home and has that weird sale price label that seems to be attached to other things going EOL. Quote
Alpinemaps Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 These are still available in volume at Legoland California. Man I wish these would disappear! Quote
TheDarkness Posted January 18, 2015 Author Posted January 18, 2015 The other problem with these sets, the parts aren't that interchangeable with other figs to add to MOCS. It really is a niche market I feel. Quote
TheOrcKing Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 The other problem with these sets, the parts aren't that interchangeable with other figs to add to MOCS.It really is a niche market I feel.True. I picked up only a few of the minifigures that gave me the most possibilities such as Burns, Nelson, Maggie, Lisa, Marge, and Homer. I did get a Scratchy simply for missing out on the Lumberjack's axe from an earlier series plus a couple Apu for his Squisee drink and possibly tan legs for something. I almost went with a Bart but not after seeing how the slingshot print covers the lower back half of his shirt and continues down the shorts. It's a good detail for the character however not so much for anything else. On another note, it can be a little creepy seeing all those detached heads floating about in a sorting drawer while the torsos elsewhere being headless for the moment. Quote
johnwray Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 One thing that these have going for them is that there will be a lot of completionists. The people who are interested in The Simpsons won't just want one, they'll want ALL of them. I imagine that will bump up the overall demand considerably. Quote
Iromby Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 I need some advice. I have 20 unopened bags. I notice that people want to know what they will get. Do I - open them and know, - try to feel and sell individually, - sell anonymous for fixed price per bag? Quote

Simpsons are easy to "smoosh" and verify by shining a flashlight through the package under the flap where there is no lettering. 1 Quote

PurpleSnurple Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 How high do you guys think these will get? I'm debating selling mine now. I was able to snag a few cases at only .98 cents each so my margins are looking good right now, but I don't want to leave money on the table. Also, smooshing to verify is easy, but has anyone ever had problems with buyers claiming they didn't get the right figure or snad cases with these? I feel like the slight loss of value with opening to verify trumps the risk taken selling them sealed. Quote
feed Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 Yes, some people claim that the rarer / most valuable fig is missing when selling sealed sets. But in my experience it doesn Quote
toycrazedchris Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 Someone spotted a description for Series 2 minifigs on Argos site. Check it out: Ay carumba - its a brilliant second LEGO Quote
mscheaf Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 Sad to see so many repeat characters. That show has as many characters as a freaking Tolstoy novel 1 Quote
legodelorean Posted February 13, 2015 Posted February 13, 2015 Sad to see so many repeat characters. That show has as many characters as a freaking Tolstoy novel Yeah, man. What about DUFF man, Disco Stu or freakin' McBane!!! So many great characters for sure. I know I'll be loading up on these when they are released. I love the Simpsons and still need the house. 1 Quote
Darth_Raichu Posted February 13, 2015 Posted February 13, 2015 How about Moe, Barney, and Principal Skinner ? Quote
MrMorden Posted February 13, 2015 Posted February 13, 2015 So many oddball characters but no Skinner, Lovejoy or Moe (etc). And with repeats (those sound good though). Makes me think there will be a 3rd wave. Quote
Guest ph4tb0i Posted February 13, 2015 Posted February 13, 2015 Not sure why everybody wants Skinner since he was only in one episode.... I want Armin Tamzarian, Leopold, and Super Nintendo Chalmers. Quote
