iahawks550
As most on this site are grown men, myself included, do you ever feel creepy, dirty, almost guilty when you go into a store and buy multiples of the same Lego sets? I haven't been able to convince myself to buy any of the Friends sets in store, as it just doesn't feel right.

Guest brickcrazyhouse
could be worse it's not barbies. might help if you have a gf/wife or kids with you. I'm more worried being thought as a reseller then a weirdo. plus the retail clerk couldn't give two shts, just worried about the next break

DoNotInsertIntoMouth
I did for a while. now I just make sure I don't check out with some super hot model girl. Usually that isn't a problem at Walmart.

Guest TabbyBoy
I felt no shame whatsoever when a walked into a factory surplus outlet and had a trolley load of Barbie & Ken dolls in front of me at the check-out and other large flatbed trolley behind with 1500 Marks & Spencer bra & panty sets. I shifted the lot and made
k2theablam
No, I don't feel the slightest bit creepy at the checkout line with multiple Lego sets, Friends sets, pokemon cards, condoms, tampons for my gf or anything of the sort. Sandwraith
Haven't purchased any friends sets so i'm not sure how i'll feel about those yet... but usually i don't feel creepy or anything. I think many of these cashiers (outside of Lego retail stores) assume Lego is just for young kids, so i do occasionally get asked "ooooh do you have a son? he will love these sets!" which is sometimes awkward and i'll usually just say yes or something similar so i don't need to go into explaining what i actually plan on doing with them >.>
k2theablam
You guys can always ask for a "gift receipt" if it makes you feel awkward lol.
rastascoob
Guys have daughters, and some have 6 daughters that all want the same thing. So just assume that is what people think. I have 4 young boys and usually shop with them so everyone thinks they are spoiled. "3 weeks after christmas and they are getting 70 series 10 CMF's" spoiled. asharerin
Just wait until your wife asks you to go to the store to buy a box of tampax. Buying lego is a walk in the park after that brutal experience.
Jackson
I never feel more like a man than when I check out with a cart full of dolls. Also, who cares if the lowly cashier is hot? Would she be wanting to bone you in the back room if you were buying dumbbells, protein powder, and power tools instead of toys?
lobo1969
I felt a little weird hovering in the Friends section the other day which is always apart from the regular LEGO. A store employee stocking shelves was giving me funny looks. But otherwise I have never had a problem walking to the register with arms full of LEGO. If the cashier comments I just say I'm a collector and they are all satisfied with that answer.

That usually puts an end to their questions pretty quick.
theegypt
lego, no. A shopping cart full of monster cereal..maybe a little. When I was buying the monster cereal the cashier asked me what I was going to do with all the cereal. I replied, "everyone loves monster cereal". Looking back my response may have been a little creepier than my actual purchase..
justafrog
"I'm making a life-size statue of the Bieb" usually shuts them up. This week, you can alter that to "I'm making a life-size statue of the Bieb, Miami-mug-shot version!" (Seriously, though, no. If I were buying a shopping cart full of porn or bottles of vodka and breath mints, I might feel a little creepy.)

Creepy? not usually, but there have been a few times where ive paid teenagers at the mall to buy items for me when ive hit my per customer limit. Guilty/Nervous? sure, anytime you drop insane amounts of money on plastic bricks you will always have second thoughts Dirt Looks? ive had a few heated discussions with LEGO store employees about what i was really doing with 10x of a certain LEGO set.
