Fcbarcelona101 Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 BUild them - they are sweet. I hate the new Sail Barge. At one point I was considering buying one for myself, but after flipping (and therefore building:p) the older model several times I can't really justify the price for what I get. Better to just grab the figs of the new one and keep the old ship Quote

Fcbarcelona101 Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 Whats the difference? They look the same. The new ones a little bigger right? The old one just looks "right". They are very similar, but notice how the front of the barge is a lot more "blocky" on the new one. Plus, the old sails just look extremely better than the new plastic ones. Quote
allen9917 Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 Appreciate the input, guys. and FCB, that's an awesome side-by-side pic. Tracking the Amazon price history, it seems both of them were below $80 at some point. Apparently I missed those deals. Guess I'll return them for now. Just curious, if you have to keep one, which one would you choose? Quote
Fcbarcelona101 Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 I would just keep the Gunship, if it were for my personal collection. For investing, in the future, either one should do fine. Quote
nolanfan34 Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 Same as FCB. Gunship over Barge. I think that price point will be pretty easy to get a couple of times this year. I have one of each, but am keeping them as my price point was under $70 for each with Barnes and Noble BOGO and coupons. Quote
Bob Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 Jabba's sail barge for 85 new. Good Deal? Anybody know how well this set does when parting it out. Thanks. Quote
Mannewald77 Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 Hey everybody, this is my first time posting to this forum (well, any forum for that matter) so excuse me if I do something wrong but I do have a question about a purchase I just made. I just recently purchased the 2006 Jabba's Sail Barge set at a flea market for $50. It had all pieces except for Boba Fett (I actually had an extra already), it didn't have any stickers, and there was no box. I mainly bought it because I had never seen one in real life before and because it was just flat out a cool set. Even though I didn't buy it to re-sell it or anything I was just wondering if I got it at a good price. Any input would be greatly appreciated,so thanks in advance! Quote
Migration Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 I've sold that set with no minifigs for $100 on ebay, sounds like you did very well. Quote
Migration Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 And yes, it's a very cool set. Much better than the new one. Quote
Fcbarcelona101 Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 I usually sell that one for $150 on ebay (used/complete) Quote
MartinP Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 You got it at a good price. The value of a used set is around $150 so you did good. Nice find! Quote
Maverick2k1 Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 Triple topic post! You have plenty of time to get these but that's not a bad price. Quote
stephen_rockefeller Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 Yeah I'm not a big fan of remakes but if you can get them cheap just flip em. Quote
Lego Head Steven Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 Think I'll pass for now seeing there is plenty of time. Thank my silly phone for triple post... whoops, sorry. :-) Quote
Grolim Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 Think I'll pass for now seeing there is plenty of time. Thank my silly phone for triple post... whoops, sorry. :-) Fixed it up, no problem I'd pass as well unless you want to try and quick flip them. Like you said, plenty of time left on them most likely. Veegs Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 Only 21 left as of typing. I'm posting this and then grabbing a couple more. I got two with shipping for 103 pounds, with the exchange rate I think my CC charged me about $94 CAD each. Not too shabby! I bet these are gone in about 20 minutes...tops... 1 Quote
@rtisan Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 Right on! Good deal for anyone looking to grab this. Decent set with lot of great parts and minifigs. You going to save/flip both or build at that price? Quote
seapotato Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 I see it went up to 57.99 Oh nvm, I forgot that they take off the VAT! Quote
Veegs Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 I see it went up to 57.99 Once you get to the paying phase it will take the VAT off and it will show up as 48.33. Quote

You going to save/flip both or build at that price? I know it is pretty early in its life cycle, but I'm always partial to Original Trilogy sets. I'm keeping one for sure for myself and family to build, and I'll try to sell a few locally (not ebay/bricklink) as there should be a couple more times to get this at a discount in the future. Hopefully. I would have preferred Jabba's Palace at this price, though, as it will likely retire quite a bit sooner. Quote
massakassa Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 I know Walmart is selling these for 90 but im so used to buying them for 60 that i dont even bother. Quote
