Alpinemaps
There was an error with the sales data for that set going in to 6862-1 and not 6862-2 for the last 3 periods. Jeff has corrected it. Those who have the set in their picks have been contacted via PM and asked to reconsider their choices. Stupid Lego, reusing numbers! Okay, thanks for clearing that up. I thought I was missing out! tonysbricks
Thanks, was the $3 thing a new rule or did I just miss it? Pretty major loophole without that restriction so I am glad it's there. Gandalf (or the 57x superman pick) would have destroyed the other choices. I am out of ideas since not in a buying phase so I'll go with my standby large undervalued choice: 11x 79111-1: Constitution Train Chase @ 90.81 each for a total of 998.

Jojoyojimbi
Simpsons house has no data yet sorry. We aren't using retail prices This rule is stupid for items that we believe will be EoL before the end of the year, it's not our faults that the info in the database isn't up to date I believe the best two sets to invest in for the entire next year will be Marina Bay Sands and the Curiosity rover, I think they'll both be short life, super high returns and if I was investing the $1000 for real I'd buy them exclusively
Jeff Mack
This rule is stupid for items that we believe will be EoL before the end of the year, it's not our faults that the info in the database isn't up to date The data for the set from 5 days ago isn't even available for me yet to push it through even under the best of circumstances. I don't receive non-stop flowing of data from eBay every time a set is sold.

It's almost impossible to replicate real life investing in a game like this, and we aren't even trying to. It's just a small slice of it that has an even playing field for all participants and helps mimic part of the investment decision making process. Including retail prices throws up other issues like retail buying limits, discounts ("who pays retail anyway" will be a big outcry), and arbitrage between retail and market prices. It's much simple for this first shot at a virtual game to leave them out.
