Soadfan4ever Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 I think you can get it at Target.com for retail ($35) so it's still available, but it could be gone at any time. Who knows how many TRU has, but they are rarely below or even near MSRP. They were $25 prior to Christmas at TRU so I think a lot of people stocked up at a discount. If you still need one for your collection it's a good idea but I wouldn't load up at this price just yet. Zskid00 is correct about them being available at target and the TRU price at Christmas. I don't see them in store anymore except for TRU. If it's for personal use I say go for it. As an investment I would pass at that price. In any case Target.com would be the better place to purchase with the Redcard if you have it. Extra 5% off plus free shipping and you'll get a free box for storage/shipping in the future.. Quote
Doofy McGee Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 All 3 minifigures in this set are very solid. People love the black Batman, and this Joker was only available in this set and the Funhouse. The Joker Henchman is also exclusive and has always been in high demand on eBay. The Batwing also sells very well. So...whether buying for investment or parting out, this set should do well enough as the supply dries up. I bought quite a few of these at $25, but if I had missed that, I would still buy several even at retail. There is no way this set will go anywhere but up. The ceiling may not be super high, but it is sure to be profitable. Quote
allen9917 Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 Is there a retired super hero set not reaching double retail price, or heading to the direction? wouldn't batwing be another winner? 1 Quote
Doofy McGee Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 Is there a retired super hero set not reaching double retail price, or heading to the direction? wouldn't batwing be another winner? Well said. Unless a Super Heroes set is super lame, it is bound to go up, up, and away! And so far, there aren't any super lame ones that I know of. Quote
Greedoshotfirst Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 I just picked up 3 of these from Target. granted it was $35 but I think i'd regret it if I didn't have a few Quote
kingleonidas Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 would definitely do well and its not that expensive anyway Quote
allen9917 Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 I was about to order a few at $35 and found target.com raised the price to $45. They certainly know what they are doing...LOL Quote
Doofy McGee Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 Yep, all the retailers are catching on to the fact that these Lego sets have great secondary market value. Target has been doing this for a couple months now. Amazon is also doing this, which makes me feel like crying on a daily basis. I used to order boatloads of stuff from Amazon, and now I can barely find a deal there that is even worth considering. Quote
holleman67 Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 I would buy this set at retail, I think it will still do good once retired but this is a remake of 7782 which came out in 06, it's selling today at $175 and retailed at $50...it's a toss up. I see it at least doubling Quote
DoNotInsertIntoMouth Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 Yeah its a $75 set eventually so $27 is the sweet spot price, but $35 is still a pretty safe buy. Quote
jason1125 Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 This morning a wall mart I went to still had about 6 of them for 39$ I think its a good set but they are still very avalible in my area . Quote
holleman67 Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 Yeah it's not retired yet, not sure what op was referring to? They are sold out on Lego's website so I'm sure it's in the near future. Quote
surfin.ei Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 Definatly would doube your money here! I would pick up any super hero set about to retire. Quote
holleman67 Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 http://shop.lego.com/en-US/Batwing-Battle-Over-Gotham-City-6863 Better get it if you want this set. Retired today. Quote
MartinP Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 I would buy them right now. $35 is a safe buy for the set and the set should double in value in the future. Quote
TheDarkness Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 It's retired. Choice is now out the window.... Sent from my iPhone using Brickpicker Quote
mudcatsfan Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 Found one today for $25 at Walmart clearance. Nice Quote
DoNotInsertIntoMouth Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 I ran across a few today at $35. I might go back and get them, but I am gonna watch what happens for a few days. Quote
holleman67 Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 I think there are better things to put your money in right now. It is retired in the us not sure about Europe. It's a remake s and it's smaller than the original. I personally think it will have slow growth and i will probably get rid of mine at Christmas. See the following info http://brickset.com/sets/6863-1/Batwing-Battle-Over-Gotham-City :http://www.brickpicker.com/bpms/set.cfm?set=6863-1 10% cagr isn't terrible Quote
mickyT88 Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 Been retired for a few months but available at Argos marked as an online exclusive, Quote

DoNotInsertIntoMouth Posted August 2, 2014 Posted August 2, 2014 Only a matter of time before stores realize like Target has. Quote
