Popular Post brickvoyeur Posted December 7, 2022 Popular Post Posted December 7, 2022 (edited) Quote I'll read the Nightmare Before Christmas story this year, kids. Twas the night before Clearance And all through the aisle Steamrollers were packed Into my cart like a pile Exo Suits were hung In the storage with care Knowing that in a decade They still will be there Sergeant Jyn Erso was nestled Deep under my bed With terrible proportions And a face that looks dead Wonder woman in her armor And cheetah in her cap The lasso of truth will tell you That this set is pure crap When out on my doorstep A noise shook me awake ShopJustice still delivering Olaf Flat as a pancake Faster shipping than FedEx The turds as they came I cried and I pouted As I called them by name "Now, Dots! now, Mario! Now Lego Movie 1 and 2! On, Raiders! on, Mighty Dinos! On, Takodana and constractables too! To the depths of the dumpster! Stacked 50 feet tall Now throw away! throw away! throw away all!" Each year I make efforts To donate a bit more But Toys for tots sends a bill For returning them to my door Since I can't give them away I'll dig a big pit It's the final solution To get rid of this sh!t I shook as I laughed At the thought of relieving this pain It was nearly 3am So I looked quite insane As I poured the kerosene I cheered with delight "I'll light you on fire, So you're out of my sight" Edited December 7, 2022 by brickvoyeur 15 18 Quote

HandyHand Posted September 19, 2017 Posted September 19, 2017 Sold a 41095 Emma's House for €51 cash (buy-in was €25, slightly damaged box). It will be a Saint Nicholas (Sinterklaas) present, the buyer told me. Sold a 70173 Ocean's HQ for €181 cash (buy-in was €116). Might be super rare in Europe, but it's taking up space and the demand is also very low. Glad to be rid of it. 1 Quote

andyposterfan Posted September 19, 2017 Posted September 19, 2017 Can i ask for some guidance please? have a buyer for a high value set (ISD), i've agreed a very good price (mid to upper end of current value range). buyer wants to pay me (UK based) by IBAN bank transfer from Italy. Clearly PayPal is a no-no for me as seller and the buyer is happy to pay by bank wire transfer. But does anyone see any problems / worries about receiving a bank transfer? (First sale of such high value for so want to make sure i get this right) thanks Quote

Only thing to clarify is with HMRC where the money came from and why. Also make sure buyer pays you the net amount in GBP from their end so you don´t get stung with commissions. andyposterfan Posted September 19, 2017 Posted September 19, 2017 thanks Val-e much appreciated is commission usually a flat fee? 1 Quote

If the money comes in in GBP then you should be fine. Ask the buyer to pay the agreed price in GBP and you´ll also avoid exchange rate risk. Quote
andyposterfan Posted September 19, 2017 Posted September 19, 2017 Got it. are there any change back or recall risks? im planning on waiting one clear day after cleared funds Quote

What platform are you selling on? Ebay would struggle to CB you unless they tried to take it from your paypal account, if linked to your ebay account. Has that ever happened to anyone? Solution to that would be leave the account at almost 0 and remove any bank or credit cards linked. DOubt that would happen, though. You´d need enough to leave enough money to pay your commissions. hockeyweasel Posted September 20, 2017 Posted September 20, 2017 IH seems to be picking up speed, finally. In a year´s time people will be paying good money for it to make the full set of Lloyd Wright series.Send that mojo to US eBay. Anything over 1 a week would qualify as picking up speed. I'm getting impatient for it to achieve Fallingwater like prices. Quote

Who said the advent market is dead I wish I had bought tons of these garbage trucks from Target last Christmas, but there was so much else to buy I only grabbed a handful. Popular Post edgecrusher Posted September 20, 2017 Popular Post Posted September 20, 2017 Just sold a 75192 UCS MF for $1400 on a CL sale. I really wanted to build this, but figured it was worth posting at $1,500 and seeing if anyone bites. It wasn't up less than 24 hours. I can wait for my own. 9 1 2 Quote
