Popular Post brickvoyeur Posted December 7, 2022 Popular Post Posted December 7, 2022 (edited) Quote I'll read the Nightmare Before Christmas story this year, kids. Twas the night before Clearance And all through the aisle Steamrollers were packed Into my cart like a pile Exo Suits were hung In the storage with care Knowing that in a decade They still will be there Sergeant Jyn Erso was nestled Deep under my bed With terrible proportions And a face that looks dead Wonder woman in her armor And cheetah in her cap The lasso of truth will tell you That this set is pure crap When out on my doorstep A noise shook me awake ShopJustice still delivering Olaf Flat as a pancake Faster shipping than FedEx The turds as they came I cried and I pouted As I called them by name "Now, Dots! now, Mario! Now Lego Movie 1 and 2! On, Raiders! on, Mighty Dinos! On, Takodana and constractables too! To the depths of the dumpster! Stacked 50 feet tall Now throw away! throw away! throw away all!" Each year I make efforts To donate a bit more But Toys for tots sends a bill For returning them to my door Since I can't give them away I'll dig a big pit It's the final solution To get rid of this sh!t I shook as I laughed At the thought of relieving this pain It was nearly 3am So I looked quite insane As I poured the kerosene I cheered with delight "I'll light you on fire, So you're out of my sight" Edited December 7, 2022 by brickvoyeur 15 18 Quote
mcortez Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 Don't print postage/shipping label. Don't do anything until he pays, or if they haven't paid within 3 days attempt to contact the buyer. If no response, than file no payment claim with ebay. There is no contract requiring you to do anything until the buyer makes payment. Quote
stephen_rockefeller Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 I would just wait until the buyer pays. Ebay does send emails instructing to pay but it's up to them to actually pay. You can also send a reminder if you wish. If they don't pay you can open up a non payment case against the buyer and ebay will refund your selling fees. I would recommend if you don't already to clearly state a time line for payment in the auctions description. For example please make payment with X number of days after close of auction. You can also set to require immediate payment from the buyer. Quote
Ciglione Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 Thanks for the info and advice. I will change my future auctions and add some timelines. If he/she did not pay tonight I will send a reminder with an ultimatum. Otherwise I will notify ebay. Quote
stephen_rockefeller Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 FYI the buyer has 2 full days to pay before you can open a case, then after the case is opened they have 4 full days to remit payment. I would just send a friendly reminder after 2 full days. I Definitely would give them the two days before contacting them. Quote

If it's a feeble excuse, don't forget to block the buyer once it's all sorted, we can do without these people making our lives harder. In my experience, the amount of stress dealing with an awkward buyer is inversely proportional to the value of the item and directly proportional to the shipping distance. Quote
weakside Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 Finally sold my last Anakin's Podracer (9762) today, local cash deal...sold it under retail price to get rid of it but still profit 45-50% ROI which I'm happy with. Quote
weakside Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 None :/ That's terrible...sign of bubble. Get out of investing while you still can...especially in Canada. JK. Welcome aboard. 1 Quote

Ciglione Posted April 8, 2014 Posted April 8, 2014 I sold a 3368 City Space Centre this morning. Quote
weakside Posted April 8, 2014 Posted April 8, 2014 Not a bad week for me. Helms Deep, Anakin Podracer, Uruk Hai Army and Cap Am. Converted my profits towards another GE purchase. Quote
naf Posted April 8, 2014 Posted April 8, 2014 Sold all of the minifigs from a hulk lab smash set except for MODOK. The sales already paid for the set, plus I still have MODOK to sell. Deciding whether to sell the set without minifigs or just keep the free parts for MOCing. This was just a little experiment in parting out, since I haven't done it before. Figures sold pretty quick, only up for a few weeks on bricklink. Quote

terrymc4677 Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 Sold a complete with box and manual 7153 jango Fett's slave I for $145 shipped on eBay. I bought it two weeks ago off of eBay for $72.22 shipped. I love quick turnarounds like that. Over the past two weeks I have sold off most of my sets that I completed from my latest bulk lot purchase. I paid $135 total for the lot, spent another $50 brick linking a few missing pieces and manuals, and so far the sets I have sold have brought in just under $800. Included were an unexpected gathering, Hagrids hut, the burrow, knight bus, dobbys release x 2, hogwarts 4867, forbidden forest, hogwarts castle, crazy scientist, werewolf x2, swamp creature, vampire hearse, freeing Dobby, fountain of youth, 31 CMFs that I sold as a lot for $75, a portion of diagon alley, trolley, and a few other small city sets. I still have a handful of Indiana jones sets and small seasonal sets to list. This has been one of the most fun bulk lots I have ever worked through, and the buy in was fantastic. 5 Quote
Ciglione Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 Sold a 3368 City Space Centre (again!). Put it on ebay with BIN last night, sold this morning. This set seems to be really popular. I will keep the last two I have for a while. Quote

Guest TabbyBoy Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 Seems like CITY sets are turkeys, I've sold 105 assorted EOL sets in the last 10 days, 93 of them at a loss after fees! That's EOL sets and even after paying -50% and even -66% for them! This along with Chima is another theme I'm leaving well alone! Quote
Guest TabbyBoy Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 Sold a dolphin cruiser this evening. How much for? I have 30 left and wondering if to wait until Xmas. Quote
