Popular Post brickvoyeur Posted December 7, 2022 Popular Post Posted December 7, 2022 (edited) Quote I'll read the Nightmare Before Christmas story this year, kids. Twas the night before Clearance And all through the aisle Steamrollers were packed Into my cart like a pile Exo Suits were hung In the storage with care Knowing that in a decade They still will be there Sergeant Jyn Erso was nestled Deep under my bed With terrible proportions And a face that looks dead Wonder woman in her armor And cheetah in her cap The lasso of truth will tell you That this set is pure crap When out on my doorstep A noise shook me awake ShopJustice still delivering Olaf Flat as a pancake Faster shipping than FedEx The turds as they came I cried and I pouted As I called them by name "Now, Dots! now, Mario! Now Lego Movie 1 and 2! On, Raiders! on, Mighty Dinos! On, Takodana and constractables too! To the depths of the dumpster! Stacked 50 feet tall Now throw away! throw away! throw away all!" Each year I make efforts To donate a bit more But Toys for tots sends a bill For returning them to my door Since I can't give them away I'll dig a big pit It's the final solution To get rid of this sh!t I shook as I laughed At the thought of relieving this pain It was nearly 3am So I looked quite insane As I poured the kerosene I cheered with delight "I'll light you on fire, So you're out of my sight" Edited December 7, 2022 by brickvoyeur 15 18 Quote

Question: should I risk shipping in a standard envelope with a postage stamp or pay $2.61 to ship in a bubble mailer? I was once shipped a minifigure in a paper envelope. I only received an empty envelope with a torn corner. As much as I dislike the extra cost, I always do the minimum of bubble mailers (@2.61 or greater). 5 Quote
donbee Posted April 25, 2017 Posted April 25, 2017 Get an old birthday card, and an envelope. Pay an extra $0.50 to have it hand sorted. Save a $1.00+And look like the cheapest fruitcake in the business. 5 Quote
Phil B Posted April 25, 2017 Posted April 25, 2017 Plain envelopes with a stamp don't come with tracking, so if anything happens, you're not protected. Granted, for $5.50 you won't be too bothered, but still .... 2 Quote

I sent out two Simpsons minifigures one time in an envelope and when the person received them, one of the minifigures was missing a head. The envelope will get run through the machine and it will tear and it will be your loss. Use the bubble mailer, especially since you get tracking and with an envelope you don't. Better to be safe than sorry! Quote

A torn envelope is about the best case scenario. There's plenty of pics online of what a sorter can do to a LEGO piece when it goes through one. Quote

Popular Post Cheese Posted April 27, 2017 Popular Post Posted April 27, 2017 Sold a Racers Ferrari Enzo. Bought locally for £70 and spent £3 on missing parts and took some more flattering pics than original ad and thereafter sold for £170 with £1 FVF so cleared £90 for a 1 month hold. Was tempted to keep it but will quickly run out of space if I deviate from Star Wars UCS and modulars. 11 Quote
Cheese Posted April 29, 2017 Posted April 29, 2017 Taking advantage of eBay £1 FVF sold my last Artic Truck for £65, clearing £30. Can't see this going much higher so priced the three I had to sell to make room. Also sold another indominus Rex for £175, clearing £100. Will keep my remaining jurrassic world stock on hold till Xmas. Quote
randrace Posted April 30, 2017 Posted April 30, 2017 Sold 3 minifig guitars for $5.49 on eBay. Question: should I risk shipping in a standard envelope with a postage stamp or pay $2.61 to ship in a bubble mailer?I sent very small pieces (like hands) to an overseas buyer who wanted to save $9 on shipping even after I explained the sorting machine risk and that I wouldn't guarantee that there wouldn't be damage. It can be done, but it's risky. One way to do it is with a piece of cardboard with a section carved out for the pieces. The letter can be no more than 3/4" thick. You can send a letter with tracking via PayPal. I've even had a minifigure arrive with a broken hand in a bubble mailer. I now wrap pieces in cardboard before they go in the mailer. Quote
LegoMan1212 Posted April 30, 2017 Posted April 30, 2017 I've even had a minifigure arrive with a broken hand in a bubble mailer. I now wrap pieces in cardboard before they go in the mailer. Extra layer of bubble wrap I believe should do the trick too. I try to achieve this on every order with bubble mailers just to give another layer of protection. It helps keep the weight just a smidge lower (maybe). I'll have to explore this card board method you speak of. I know I've read it previously, probably from a post from you too. Personally I've had people ship those smaller star war box sets in a bubble mailer. It came squished like someone stepped on it. The dude said my neighbor probably did it. (Sure) or you put things in a box like they should be he got into a hassle for 50 cents to a dollar savings on shipping. Bottom line, don't skimp on shipping and packing. Not worth it. 1 Quote

Have a few more, of which I'll be looking to get rid of asap before the inevitable race to the bottom. These will probably settle down at about £10-£12. Edited May 4, 2017 by LahH001 Quote
