I think you guys are giving him/her a bit of a hard time over all of them except IR. That was a dumb move as that set will only climb as xmas approaches. Throw out anything else from your attic but that set!

The xmas freebie for 35 cash is good money  and the others are either turds or too new to be able to do anything but quick flip or hold for a year or two for marginal gains.

Definitely "him" :lolu:

Thanks. Lessons learned with IR.

100x 41106 Friends Pop Star Tour Bus for £1800 cash - £1000 profit. (Hope to shift another 100 next weekend!)

10x 60124 Volcano Exploration for £450 cash - £260 profit.

5x 4204 The Mine for £320 cash - £160 profit.

I know I could get more but, it saves a lot of work compared to listing/boxing/shipping and FRIENDS has been a dire performer.

Come Tabby, you know you love Friends.

Sold a couple more of 21118 Minecraft The Mine for $145, buy in was $60 at B &N. I got 7 of these and $145 has been where I'm at on 5 so far...one of the buyers today actually took the worst box I had which wasn't terrible but at least now I don't have to worry about getting rid of it for less. 2 left, not bad for 6 - 7 months hold. Might keep one to build, the 6 year old won't be pleased if I sell ALL of them but this isn't about personal feelings, it's about money. A concept when selling one must face head on...even at 6!

Yeah, for someone that hates City and Friends  he sure buys a lot of them. I wonder how cheap EV would have to go to test his principles.

I'd need to be paid £200 to be given an EV. Seriously, that scene spoiled ROTJ for me and don't want to be reminded of it. I'll flip anything for a quick buck and it was easy money for loading and unloading a van today.

Same here for The Mine. Peaked so far at $149 for 3 sold and 5 to go. Broke down 2 bad box ones for personal use.

Also sold eBay:

Gingerbread House $65  free first-class

AT-AT 75054  $230  free to GSP to Canada  (wish this would hit $250+ for me)

I did the same thing to my 6 year old on this set. I tried to explain that he could buy so many sets with the money they sold for. In the end he completely forgot. It helped that I got some mine craft stuff in a used lot I picked up and gladly gave him the pieces from that as he helped sort the lot with me.

You might regret selling the DB X so soon.

Whoever bought 100 sets from you - why don't they cut you out of the equation and bag the Tesco deals themselves?

Because Tabby pretty much cleared Tesco out of the £17 Spaceports and £8 Tour Buses. The B#######

Not quite... I wish!

I wasn't able to price match everyhing before the price went back up. Tesco can only match when the price is real-time but, I managed to get a supervisor to help me get the deal on most of the sets. Even at the higher price, it was still a cracking deal so I'm not returning anything. The Tour Buses will be QFLL and all gone by the end of the month. The Airports and Spaceports will mature nicely once EOL.

The person who bought the 100 Tour Buses from me (and another 100 on Saturday) obviously missed out on the deal as it was very early morning. Of course, I wasn't going to let slip, was I? He runs a couple of independent toy shops down South and could be the perfect customer if I look after him. I met him via eBay of course ;-)

I know profits are lower when shifting volume but, is there an easier way to make a quick buck?

Is he ignorant of deals or simply can't be arsed to spam order sites in the early hours?

Not everyone has the time to sit on Internet all day and monitor lego prices :P

The friends tour bus and spaceport started about midnight but only really got going once posted on hukd.

Tabby got a great deal shifting 100+ sets after a very short hold period.

The good thing with tour bus and spaceport is that they are fast sellers. I agree will probably be start of 2017 at least before the quick flip run out of stock, by then both sets should be retired and sold out from TRU / smyths etc.

Alot of people have started selling these on gumtree and Facebook marketplace.

I'm sort of nocturnal and rarely go to sleep before 2am as I really don't get going until 9am. I always browse websites after midnight when good sales are on as as this is prime time for mistakes and new offers to appear so that the admins don't affect the site during "normal" hours. I hope than none of us post on HUKD as we should have first dibs, right? I've had some crazy deals from Asda/George in the early hours before the HUKD "scum" broadcasted it!

Regarding the toy shop owner, I'd expect that he works hard all day, enjoys wholesale pricing and just can't be arsed to stay up all night?

Never going to laugh about the "girl" sets again. The only thing I have selling like crazy is the Elves sets.

4x Skyra's mysterious sky castle 41078.
Buy in 19 sold 4 so far (in the last 3 days) for 62 each on eBay. Just listed this stuff and already 12 watchers! Crazy! Thanks@exciter1 for opening my eyes almost left all those sets and those 5 dollar porta potties that day...lol

Typical case of "Buy-in is king". MSRP on that set is $80, so you are giving people 20% off, while giving yourself a healthy $20-$30 dollar profit on a $19 investment. Well done!
