What Lego set did you sell today and for how much?

I couldn't help but notice this; so it still pretty much goes for the same prices as during its production run? I am quite surprised. Looks like a great set and it had limited availability. Maybe I shouldn't feel guilty for having flipped all of them I had months ago...

They might have a spike later, but holding steady for now.

It's a shame daily bugle never took off.  It lingered forever.  I actually saw it at TRU just a few months ago and passed.  Hopefully you made a small % profit at the end of the day on that one.

It will take off, as soon as I sell my last one.  :phone:

My TRU still has one on the shelf.  I saw 30+ at a TRU last Summer, priced at $64, of course.

My very first, albeit tiny sale:

2 x Arctic Snowmobile 60032 (Buy-In: $5.24 ea): $30.68 - Shipping ($13.06) - PayPal ($1.19) - BL ($0.60) = $5.35.

My sell price was $10 ea, but like a n00b, I underestimated the cost of shipping when I prepared my invoice.  But, I'll take that $5.35 straight to the bank!  :money:

I assume this has a typo and you sold for $20.68? Otherwise the math doesn't make sense.

See?  I am a n00b!  Thanks for pointing that out.

The calculation reflected the original buy-in cost without showing it in the costing breakdown.

One more try:

 2 x Arctic Snowmobile 60032 (Buy-In: $5.24 ea): $30.68 - Original Buy-In ($10.48) - Shipping ($13.06) - PayPal ($1.19) - BL ($0.60) = $5.35.

(How can you tell my main motivation is collecting, and not selling Lego!) :jester:

Why didn't you list with Calculated shipping? Far safer to roll with that option on lower priced sales like this, as even a few dollars difference can eat drastically into the margins. Less so if you miscalculate shipping on a $400 set, the percentage will be smaller.

It requires a little bit of extra work before listing, to find a box, pack it, weigh it, measure it.... but once you have all that info, jot it on a sticky note and attach it to the box for when you DO end up selling and printing your shipping label. Then take that info when you list, plug it in, and select Calculated. With the ebay discount, you'll usually earn $1 or so on shipping costs (what buyer is charged vs what you're charged), rather than lose it!

Regardless, grats on the first sale man! Feels good doesn't it?! :money:

That's the best advice I've picked up from this website, actually.  And in this case, I did prepackage, measure and weigh the parcel.  I'm just not sure why there was a discrepancy between what I calculated using Canada Post's website versus what I ended up paying using PayPal's integrated Canada Post service.  Although I can't envision myself as a big time re-seller, it was a neat experience selling something and turning a profit, even if it's only a paltry $5 sum!

Thanks for the advice, @Zelgazra!  I'll definitely use this experience to do a better job of calculating my shipping fees to maximize my profit.

2x 75049 Snowspeeder for $68.89 each amazon FBM.

bumped up the price another $10 and lowered quantity 1- feel like i will be kicking myself selling them at this price in a few months but with a $22 average buyin, and free capital running low after a very expensive month, it was time to take some profit.

unloaded my one and only 9500 Sith Interceptor for $175 amazon FBM.  bought at TRU with a coupon and a gift card a while ago for $60.

I've been holding out for a couple locally at RRP. I might just go ahead and get them. I've been waiting for a discount.

Lucked into a private sale this morning via a blind EBay message. Didn't appear to be scammy and just a LEGO enthusiast. They offered to accept an invoice.

Town Hall, Fire Brigade and Grand Emporium for $1080

I started a sale

Easter special!!!

My kids got up and got all the eggs while my wife and the younger kids were sleeping easter morning. Needless to say, the two youngest didn't have the chance to find any eggs, and easter was pretty much ruined. Their loss is your gain.

Selling their easter set. Will use money for local charity or something to celebrate easter like it should be

If they missed an egg (lego were in eggs) will add to lot as the week goes.

NO reserve, starts at 0.99. Thanks
