Wth... Just sold a PC on eBay for $299.99 with free shipping. Went to a freight forwarder, but I've never had a problem with those. Plus this one happened to be local so $8 shipping on that beast is a bonus.

Don't ship yet PM sent.

Look at the sold listings for PC on eBay for the past 2 days versus the rest of the month. At first I thought it retired but no, and it is not OOS at Amazon. Not sure why this set or if there are others. Mine sold on Saturday and I received a fraud alert email from eBay and the buyer with a confirmed paypal and cleared funds no longer exists. I know of another member had the same thing happen with same address but different user. I would be expecting charge backs.

I sold my Tower of Orthanc for $250 via CL. I was tired of holding onto this. I didn't really need to sell but I thought what the heck. I'll pay down my credit card with the money.

I hope paying ur credit card is your priority and youve stopped purchasing sets until the the cc debt is gone.

Could be like me and just paying off his wife's credit card.

Lol. Seriously though, paying OFF is good, paying DOWN super high interest debt while putting more money into investments is bad strategy. Also i know there are different camps on this but i feel debt/finances should be considered as shared when married.

I got 1 too and it used the same FF company as Pseudoty's fraudulent buyer.  I would delay shipment for a few days just to see if Paypal ends up flagging this transaction.

Absolutely. I don't use my cc to purchase sets though. It's been run up for other expenditures that were needed. I only buy sets with money from my paycheck. I don't purchase sets with cc's. I also haven't bought a $199+ set for over a year. I've only been buying clearance sets selectively. I'm small time......extremely small time.

Thanks guys, I held the package back from the mail pick up today, and sure enough just got the "suspicious buyer no longer registered" email from eBay.

I really can't figure out the scam though.  Are they just trying to time it so sellers ship before the alert comes through?  Why would they de-register themselves before they get the shipping notification?

For anyone else, here is the suspect address to watch out for...

Today all FBA

4- At-At $219

3- Rancor Pit 115

1- Palpatines arrest  $177

2- Cantina  $98

1- castle dragon $105

I am unloading most of my stuff.  I am terrified now with so many new people and when I see the pictures of a new person doing this for 2-4 months and already have 10 tumblers and all the other modulars and such stacked up it really is scary to me.  I wish these folks the best but I would rather sit on cash now.   I am thinking when most these folks sell they will be not happy with the small returns.   This is all extra cash money for me.  No CC to pay and therefore no worries if the items sit in the back room, but some will have a rude awakening thinking this is going to fund a home or college for their children.  This is for me a few free legos and maybe if lucky a few paid cool ones to admire down the road.

Thanks for the info.  Most of my freight forwarding seems to go through Oregon, but have had some in California.

I do think that 2016 was probably a bad year to start being a Lego investor. I do think when everyone has ton of stock that they can't make a profit on because the horde have changed the standard retirement patterns, a lot of people will back out of lego investing. People read about UCS models fetching silly money and are imagining 100% profit quick flips within a year of retirement. Only the retirements aren't happening when they should and when they do there's so many quick flippers cashing out the prices only creep.

I want to see Pet Shop, Indominus Rex and VW T1 retire just to see what the actual state of the investor market currently is, based on Tumbler prices I think it could be a real harsh lesson for some.

while #10218 may fit the pattern that horde changed for exclusive, i would not put

#75919 and #10220 in the same league because of the fact that camper van has their own following but i would believe that everyone who wanted one already have one ;) and the indominus rex needs to be seen .. i don't have an opinion on that one. not sure where it will go. not because i am sitting on some of them. for that matter i am sitting on bunch of all of those. but even then ;) worst case i will be building dyamn few cities with quite a few Indominus chomping on VW camper vans.. but that would be the case in 2019 ;)

I just mean it will be interesting given that they seem to have been so heavily hoarded with very high expectations for good returns straight after retirement. I think they will all work out longer term, but I think the wait will kill off a fair amount of enthusiasm for "the new gold"

Sold a 75055 Imp Star Destroyer for $385 CDN on Amazon. Only listed it the day before. This was the last of the 3 I bought for 50% off on Boxing Day 2014 at Walmart. I wish I'd held on to the other 2 a little longer. I "only" doubled my money on those. May invest the proceeds in some Brick Bountys I saw the other day. Those have already been appreciating nicely.

I couldn't help but notice this; so it still pretty much goes for the same prices as during its production run? I am quite surprised. Looks like a great set and it had limited availability. Maybe I shouldn't feel guilty for having flipped all of them I had months ago...
