There's a huge price disparity between Jeks starfighter.  Ebay going rate is 50-70.  I came across this set at WM the other day for $50, thought about picking it up and decided to leave it on the proverbial tree to ripen some more.

I found a few during Winter clearance too, but would not have picked them up if I was going the EBay route.  I was preparing a shipment anyway and they were in decent condition, so I took the plunge.  I left a few that were more tattered.

Buy-in was $54.

This is small stuff, just starting up on ebay over the last few months, but had my first "multiple sale" day and it was a whopper: 4 sales so far in the last 18 hours. Margins are not big but I'm just using these to build up my experience and feedback score:

2x Shark Guy CMF 15 for $9.99 each (different buyers)

1x Lot of 10 30276 FO Special Forces TIE Fighter for $69.99

plus non-LEGO:

8 Lenovo keyboards for $8.99 each (same buyer).

I celebrated by spending multiples of those earnings on new inventory :-/

1 x Milano Spaceship Rescue €55 cash (buy in was €40 last week) was going to keep until the sequel, but the box condition was poor, so decided to flip.

1 x Double Decker Couch €25 cash (buy in was €11.50)

1 x Museum Break-In €55.50 shipped (buy in was €27) just freeing up some cash flow

Just curious, what is the rush to sell now? €350 is a nice price increase for sure, but why not wait until you can get a higher price? Maybe it's because I only have 3 of this set, or that I saw it at the LEGO store 10 days ago for RRP,  but I'm optimistic / hoping this will rise in value over the next 6-12 months.

All boxes have to be sold this year, that's why i start now.

:)

Got rid of a few more sets this past week. For anyone that saw my query regarding a Harry Potter lot in the Deal or No Deal thread, I've already made some profit! (well, if you calculate on a per set basis... I'm still well in the negative overall :P)

Another 30293 Kai Drifter NISBag  $8.25 shipped

Used 7929 Battle of Naboo (Ship & Instructions Only, no figs) $27.65 shipped

Used 4735 Slytherin (No instructions) + 4712 Troll on the Loose (100% including box) $80 shipped (personal collection plus another bulk lot find; $15 Buy-In to replace figs)

Used 4711 Flying Lesson + 4701 Sorting Hat (both 100% including box) $64 shipped (from that HP lot, $33.50 buy-in for the two)

Probably more info that anyone cares about but there you have it. Unlike most of my listings which sit for at least a week or two before generating interest, Harry is as popular as ever, all listings sold within 48 hours. Offers and bartering were involved, love this aspect of selling personally! If you price strategically you can end up with your goal value in pocket, and your buyer thinks they snagged a deal from you: Everyone wins and it seems to generate great feedback!

Microfighters Tie Interceptor 75031 and X-wing 75032 both to the same buyer on amazon for total of $59.44 though through separate listings so got 2x the shipping and both sets fit in a 6x6x6 box, just over 10 oz shipping for both under $4 across the country first class.

I can't decide whether I feel better about:

- selling 2 sets I bought for $13 total on clearance for $59.44 or

- that I made $6 pure profit from shipping expenses charged vs what I paid to ship the item.  this is the first time i ever came out this far ahead with shipping from amazon.

Just sold the 2 JW Raptor sets to a very relieved mom for $180 CDN total off Craigslist. Paid $60 each 3 months ago but as she said "They're sold out everywhere". I love sales like this. I'm happy, you can see they're happy, and because they're so happy I don't get any haggle or hassle over the price and no one returns things, whether because of scams or otherwise, like what I hear about on ebay and Amazon. As an example I sold the Joker amusement park set from 2 years ago to someone on Amazon in December. I had bought this at a TRU way back when and woke up Christmas morning to find a message from the buyer that little Timmy opened the box to find it was missing bag 1 and all the figures and wanted a refund. Now, I'm assuming that he was legit and that the stuff had been taken and then returned to an unsuspecting TRU and in turn bought by an unsuspecting me so I refunded the money after getting it back, but for all I know he made off with the figures and bag 1 and returned the rest to me, which is now unsaleable. This is the only return I've ever had to do and I count myself lucky for it.

since i have gone through same so i would say its plausible that TRU and/or other store returns could be missing item(s).

this is why i always weigh each and every set (with variation of 0.5oz) as soon as its bought so that even a minor discrepency can be corrected. at least its peace is mind.

i think i posted long time ago how #5885 was filled with garbage lego items and people have stolen the good stuff from there.

Acquired six total of the Walmart 10697 XXL boxes before Xmas. Got three at $30 and three at $50 (plus tax... avg cost = $41.74 ea).  Sent them all into to AMZ FBA a few days ago. Sold them for $99 each. After fees, shipping, etc, I figure $75 each in revenue, or 80% profit.

I came to the game in early Oct '15, but closed the first deal just several days ago - sold 10225 R2-D2 and 10237 ToO for cash, $293 and $253 respectively.

The buy-in was $210 for each, but the margin is more than simple 20-40% due to dramatic local currency devaluation.

microfighter madness continues - sold a Millennium Falcon 75030 for $42.97 on amazon - buyer even used expedited shipping.  first class will get it there in time  - thanks!

buy-in was $7 walmart clearance .  first wave microfighters are turning out to be a fantastic investment.  luckily i have dozens and dozens left.
