What Lego set did you sell today and for how much?

So I just finished running the numbers off of the Bay/paypal.

This is for all of 2015:

100 Total sales

gross proceeds of 16,518.xx

fees include shipping, packaging materials, gas for transportation when allowed by the IRS, ebay fees, paypal fees...does not include time spent

(3588.xx)

Cost of product (7053.xx)

Net profit 5703.xx....80+% return on original investment (I have not calculated the CAGR yet)

I am still a small fry.  This is the first time I crossed 100 sales in a year.   This season included selling out of deloreans, republic gunships, selling a few 9398 acquire from the UK, and some duds I was happy to escape with some profit like Orc Forge and Apple tree house (very thin margins on those).

Some sets were held for 3+ years others a much shorter time.  Fun time but I was little disappointed in the returns.

Last year I grossed about half of that but my ROI was nearly 100%.

Don't read too much into it....A lot was set selection.  Some of my combined listing got eaten up with shipping costs.  (I am based in the Midwest and I had a lot of west coast sales)  I Rarely use calculated shipping but I am rethinking that strategy.

The post is in no way meant to brag because to some it is rather paltry....I have a day job and honestly this years returns have me questioning my methods and set selections.

I need to improve/be more patient and learn.  5700 in profit...I put about triple that back into new inventory this year...getting ready for 2017/2018 selling seasons.

Not paltry at all! I have a problem with buying and not selling enough. I think I maybe sold less than 10 sets all of last year. Very small fry here.

My sales have fallen off a cliff the last two days. Nothing. From Dec 8th until two days ago I had sold at least 4 items a day. It feels so weird not packing boxes and fighting ebay's shipping system all night.

Last Thursday/Friday I had a huge amount of sales, I'm talking at least 5 times my average day... Then Saturday/Sunday, not a single sale.

It does make you scratch your head...

WTH is up with the Halloween Bat?  I've sold about a dozen since Jan 1st at $9.50 a pop.  I sold 3 today, so I finally decided to raise my price as I would like to have a bunch for Halloween sales.  I changed it to $14.50 and sold another within 2 minutes of hitting the revise key.  I was kind of counting on these for meeting my Amazon minimums for holiday sales this year.

Even funnier is I'm still finding those bats in the wild for $3.99

Sold 2 red arm C3PO polybags on Amazon for $15 CDN each plus $7 shipping. Shipping will only cost $3 so I'm actually netting at a little over $15 on something I got for free by spending $25. I knew I should have got more. Not bad for 3 pieces of lego.

Also is there a thread with everyones eBay Id's so we can stalk each others ebay accounts and see what we are all selling?

I do not think that such a thread is a very good idea.

Yeah.  I purposely keep my eBay seller name different (and secret) on here to keep prying eyes (whether it's other investors or LEGO themselves) from figuring out who I am.  I suppose if you're savvy enough, you can figure it out based on recent sales, and reporting in this post, provided someone is timely with their reporting, and truthful about their sales numbers.

3315 - Olivia's House for $80 off of Craigslist  (Buy in was $38 in December of 2014 so I will take that.)  I then proceeded to the Lego Store and Bought a lonely Mountain for 77.98 plus tax so - easy come, easy go!!!!  The net is I got the Lonely Mountain for basically a little over $40 in my mind.  My mind is a good place to be sometimes.  (other times, not so much)
