Popular Post brickvoyeur
Quote I'll read the Nightmare Before Christmas story this year, kids. Twas the night before Clearance And all through the aisle Steamrollers were packed Into my cart like a pile Exo Suits were hung In the storage with care Knowing that in a decade They still will be there Sergeant Jyn Erso was nestled Deep under my bed With terrible proportions And a face that looks dead Wonder woman in her armor And cheetah in her cap The lasso of truth will tell you That this set is pure crap When out on my doorstep A noise shook me awake ShopJustice still delivering Olaf Flat as a pancake Faster shipping than FedEx The turds as they came I cried and I pouted As I called them by name "Now, Dots! now, Mario! Now Lego Movie 1 and 2! On, Raiders! on, Mighty Dinos! On, Takodana and constractables too! To the depths of the dumpster! Stacked 50 feet tall Now throw away! throw away! throw away all!" Each year I make efforts To donate a bit more But Toys for tots sends a bill For returning them to my door Since I can't give them away I'll dig a big pit It's the final solution To get rid of this sh!t I shook as I laughed At the thought of relieving this pain It was nearly 3am So I looked quite insane As I poured the kerosene I cheered with delight "I'll light you on fire, So you're out of my sight" Edited December 7, 2022 by brickvoyeur 15
labfreak7
I know it's harder to do but set names rather than numbers would be better. I don't remember every set number. Ty

UCS "Attack on Hoth" is the question for 75054; does it include AT-AT(s)? Either way, that's a good price. I would also take $150 cash for mine. Sprocket77
Christmas Train for €38 shipped locally, this is the promo which keeps on giving. Wish I'd bought more from Lego during the promo now.
HandyHand
40138 + 40139 (Christmas train + Gingerbread House) together for €40, excluding shipping. By putting the shipping at €10 (within The Netherlands) I covered the eBay and PayPal fees to get a nett worth of €20 for each set. Unfortunately people in The Netherlands aren't as willing to pay lots of €€€ for these free promo sets as they are apparently in Ireland or the UK. The going rate for both sets on Marktplaats.nl is still around €20-€25 tops.

I only ship items over €20 tracked, so my shipping is a little pricey compared to UK sellers.
tractorboy
Sold another 21110 RI on the bay for €43 plus shipping. Slowly getting through these at 2xRRP now, which is fine.

At that price it's better to effectively self insure. The way I look at it, on a €20 item, I'd need to be scammed or have a problem with shipping once every four sales to be paying the extra for registered post. Even I'm not that unlucky. Even on €50 item, you're talking one in ten, still not worth it.

If I had a ton of GBH to get through, I'd sell them by standard post and risk the odd hit. I think I'll drop my shipping for few small sets and see how it goes. For example, cheaper to charge €40 with €10 shipping than €45 with €5 shipping. Most of my sales are to the continent anyway and I use couriers for anything over 2kg, so covered by their insurance. Does eBay charge differently in Europe than in the US? Because I pay "Final Value Fees" on the sale price as well as on the shipping (they actually come through as 2 different charges). So there is no difference between a $50 item with free shipping, a $45 item with $5 shipping and a $40 item with $10 shipping.

That is weird because that encourages you to list all your items for 1 EUR and just put the difference in the shipping costs. Unless eBay doesn't give you flexibility in setting your own shipping costs of course .....
labfreak7
So this is a weird question perhaps or an observation... Seems to be a whole lot more posts about what Lego set was bought, and significantly less about what is sold. Seems that the majority of us are buying a whole lot more often than selling. Mods feel free to move this to the bubble thread of more appropriate.

I have found that selling falls off a cliff once the holidays pass.
