I sold a bundle of the CITY Train and Square that we got from yoyo a few days ago, for $310 shipped via ebay. After shipping I pocket about $30.

I thought that was ok for a quick flip, but in hindsight I'll probably list the next set @ $320-$325. I'm just getting into this but I do typically try to keep my pricing pretty low.

Also a Tie advanced prototype for $55 shipped.

Nice. where did you find a box to fit the set?

I had ordered 4 from Walmart.ca the night the sale went live. 2 per carton. I've sold one via CL, so I put my listing up as 2 available, Ready to Ship... since I have(had) the two original shipping boxes. The third one, if I sell it on ebay, I'll have to come up with something.

That said, I work at MEC on the inventory team. The quantity, and size range, of boxes we get on a nightly shipment is astounding, and they all just go into the recycle bin. I'm swimming in boxes of every size imaginable that I've been collecting over the past 6 months, so surely I've got something in the piles that would suit it nicely. Free shipping materials for the win.

Edit: I used some smaller boxes I'd collected to ship used sets that were measured to the same width of a CT, to use as snug filler in place of the 2nd tower, as obviously the box was 2x too big... since it was shipping by weight with a set that size, extra volume didn't seem to affect my shipping pre-calculations... Buyer conveniently located in Chilliwack, so shipping was $14 or something.

Sold a few pieces of my childhood today. Good thing too, paid for the Tumbler I grabbed yesterday...

6278 Enchanted Island $166 shipped

and as a lot

6799 Showdown Canyon $22.25
5958 Mummy’s Tomb $44
5948 Desert Expedition $47.50

= $113.75 shipped. The haggling was real on this one.

Since these were from before my dark ages, my buy-in was $0. Did fairly well I think.

Wow, the price of the 6278 has increased quite a bit recently.

I saw that. How many left?

Picked up a couple myself, the other day but the baseline is still less than 150 euros in a lot of countries.

Just one more, but the shop I got them from still has some at RRP. Didn't pick them all up originally as I had just started investing and didn't know alot about the theme. The store's a bit out of the way, so don't get to it often.

That was up for 7 months, so wasn't exactly a fast mover. Had plenty of low ball best offers, but just stayed patient, this one was an offer about 6% below my asking price, so decided I'd let it go.

The visit to that store was a great way to start investing and show the missus that I wasn't crazy, picked up 2 Fallingwaters, a Farnsworth House and a Republic Class Venator Attack Cruiser.

The price difference on Amazon an eBay just shows what kind of buyers each site attracts, and why in the last 12 months I've shifted most of my stock towards Amazon, around 70% on the river and the leftovers on eBay. Gingerbread house is a prime example, I've been selling them for around £39 on Amazon, and you can easily get one for around £25-£30 on eBay.

Always check Ebays recent Sold Listings as well.

Had done, recent listings on the set had sold for around $120 CAD + shipping. Mine was missing some stickers so I listed at 99% complete at $155 + shipping, thinking I was listing high and would get offers at $130ish. And it turns out I could've asked higher I think. Still, a quick sale at asking price is a much as I could've hoped for really, happy to net $135 profit on a 20 year old set!
