"Shane" only posts things periodically. The guy that Iso is referring to almost always sells used sets. The seller that I'm referring to posts more often. He always posts brand new sets with stock photos. Hogwarts Castle, Freeco Speeder, and others, and always has Broomfield/Highlands Ranch for location. He's asking secondary market prices. I am just curious if he moves very much product on CL in our region with Ebay pricing. I haven't had very much luck personally.

You must be referring to this guy: http://denver.craigslist.org/tag/4371654314.html

Yeah I've always been curious about his sales as well. Anyone catch this post? I'm tempted if he'd come down on his price a little since I've always wanted an ISD http://denver.craigslist.org/tag/4396943039.html

Exactly! That's funny...I've been eyeballing that ISD also. The problem is they are so much work to prep to sell, there's not quite enough room to make sufficient money, in my situation. I'm surprised it's still available.

Shane was a major collector, but he has been liquidating his collection over the last few months.  I picked up some of his sets at a local flea market to include 21103, 10937, 10240 (used), 10129 (used), 7783 (open box but sealed inner bags) and 10144 (not complete) for awesome prices.  He was selling a used original star destroyer that day for $400 but I just did not have enough funds at the time.  He told me that day that he had sold a boatload of new and used sets before I stumbled on him.  He is legit, if I remember correctly he was trying to fund a new business and that was why he was selling all of his Lego.  The Simpson's house is an absolute deal at $150, I am surprised it is still available.

Did you get your 10179 locally somewhere as well?

My wife worked with a gal and her boyfriend actually worked at the lego store.  He was tasked to build a 10179 for the store and ended up quitting before he was done and they never asked for the set back.  He ended up moving to Europe and my wife ended up buying if from her coworker, my wife told me she bought it for around $250 and this was around 2008.

Yeah, I can see how making someone build 10179 would make him quit... But it is gotta be more fun than building SSD  :-)

Must have been pretty harsh. Quit his job and moved to a different continent.

You'll never stop the Simpsons!

Have no fears,

we've got stories for years.

Like, Marge becomes a robot,

maybe Moe get's a cell phone,

has Bart ever owned a bear or,

how 'bout a crazy wedding,

where something happens,

and do-do do-do do?

Jezz... I wish the Simpsons was still awesome like the 90's!

I'll pass. I've never been a fan of the Simpsons and I'm not very excited about the design of the house either. I'd rather pick-a-brick 2523 pieces and I'd probably pay a fraction of the price.

You actually wouldn't. You'ld pay atleast 250 and that would be all studs, tiles and 1x1 bricks.. Unless you used in store PAB

I'm turning the Simpson's House into a modular. Or should I at least wait for the minifigure series? #TooSoon ?

Thought about it aswell, basing my design concept on the Haunted House, like the way it opens up, and also want to retain a feature the set had. My idea is to make the garage first floor, along with kitchen and washroom combo. All a general idea and glad someone else is doing the same. Want to PM pics of it each other when we're done?

Haha, what I meant was for the Simpsons house to open up like the HH but still be in a modular style... But now I realize the Simpsons House already does that and I just need to make it in a modular shape, haha. Must have been really tired when I made the post..

While thats cool, it looks too tall for me. I am happy with the normal Haunted House.

The first design by Kristel and the last from Brick City Depot are about the same height as the original. The second one though turns it more into a Haunted Mansion than a Haunted House. Certainly impressive on getting the whole thing to fit within the Cafe Corner standard of a 32x32 baseplate but it does make the building appear more victorian than rustic. Come to think of it, that one has a bit of a Merry Poppins timeframe feel to it.

I like Kristel's the best. My version is going to be similar but with a front porch instead. I'm sticking with only parts available in HH.

For the Simpson's House I'm thinking a 32x32 baseplate build.
