Guest brickcrazyhouse Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 And soon enough Bootlego (thanks anikinisvader) will have their version out for $3 Quote
Doofy McGee Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 Found one in SW MN today. A few other area walmarts have them listed at that price but are out of stock (android app). Found one at a WM that was allegedly OOS this afternoon. Anyone know any deals on the Rancor Pit? It serves as the basement of the palace. Did you find this in Worthington by any chance? That was my first thought when you said southwestern Minnesota. I passed through there once on a road trip, and I had one of my most amazing scores ever there. There was literally a half an aisle's worth of clearance. Got six Batcaves for $49 each, plus a bunch of other goodies. It was amazing. Quote
Huskers1236 Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 Thinking two things about the pit. 1. Winner 2. If LEGO made a mold they probably will be releasing another rancor set in the future Doubtful. I don't see another Rancor happening. At least not in the next decade. Edit: Unless Episode 7-9 has one for some reason. Quote
hepcatpunk Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 $64 was the clearance price it went to last summer at WM. If it's a WM in the boonies, could be a relic of last summer's clearance. 1 Quote
Guest brickcrazyhouse Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 Hoping your right but with all the remakes coming out this year until the movies come out look like they've run out of ideas (for the most part). Would be another curve ball to investors to release another two years after this set goes eol Quote
Popular Post emazers Posted February 10, 2014 Popular Post Posted February 10, 2014 Seems like everybody is wondering about the 6860 Batcave and Jabba's Palace, "well the Batcave is out for all of 2014" As for Jabba's Palace well production is over, but remember nobody know's how many cases are in warehouses in the US and overseas but Lego. So even as production is done only time will tell when they are sold out.So if you don't have any or not enough don't wait forever. I am sure alot of you including me wish the Batcave would be retiring. If I get anymore info on anything else I will Post,Thats all I can say about this. As I was told to keep this simple and brief. Greedoshotfirst Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 Thanks for the heads up, while I was hoping for the Batcave to retire, I am happy about the update on Jabba's Palace as I have been holding off and will now pick up a few. Quote
belljohn Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 Jabba's Palace was predicted to be done by the end of 2013, so this makes sense. It is sold out everywhere. Anyone know where to find more below retail? Lego Shop at Home US still has stock. I have 5 so far. Quote
TheOrcKing Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 I saw a small row of Batcaves return at my Target but not Walmart yet. Guess we'll see if every retailer gets some back in stock or just select areas. Quote
supergman Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 Well for what it's worth, I was at a Walmart near Philly today and they had a massive stock of lego, I don't think I've ever seen so much at a Walmart in the past....tons of sets...tons! Anyway, they had at least a dozen or so of the jabba palaces, at least 20 or so of the Monsters train, batcaves, you name it, they probably had it. Nothing was on clearance and the manager said that they don't ever run clearances on Lego. Hmm. Quote
TheDarkness Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 It will be interesting to see then if it remains retired throughout the rest of the world and could be a nice little flipper if it isn't. Many stores here are moving very quickly to offload any older stock on their Lego shelves so it is unlikely they will be found here easily. Quote
seapotato Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 The only place that carries JP in my area is TRU, but at $5 over retail. Quote

danmclovin Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 Is it normal for a set in the US to be available for 1 year + after retirement in other countries? .. it's done here in the UK! Quote

On occasion, though I do think this may have something to do with the Batman v Superman movie being pushed back in release date. Quote
Doofy McGee Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 Regarding the Batcave... Remember that everybody has always thought this set would be a huge winner. It will still be a huge winner, we just have to wait a little longer on it now. But don't forget that there is a pretty big upside to this. Brickpickers who didn't get as many as they wanted will get another crack at it. And, best of all, we will now see a whole new batch of these at $49 at Walmart again at some point. I for one am pretty happy about that. I already have 14 of these, but I would gladly add another dozen. Quote
Guest TabbyBoy Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 The bad news for us Brits is that the American's may flood our market since they can get the Batcave cheap while it's EOL over here. Quote

It will impact though there are many people who wouldn't deal with international sellers in case of any hassles. Quote

fantomas007 Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 Guys, do you think that 6860 has a solid potential as an investion? I can buy some pieces for 70 eur (you know, in Europe we have big prices) but have some worries: 1) I am not sure how Super Heroes are popular in Europe. I have never checked this theme and its hard to predict its popularity. Even the distribution of Heroes theme is very limited. 2) this set is smaller than the previous batcave, so I dont know whether is still perfect for fans, which can compare them and rather wait for some future bigger batcave. Quote
LegoManiacc Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 Doh, I really loaded up on these the last month or so. It's not too often that a set is out for another year in one region after being retired across the rest of the world. Guess the popularity of Batman in the US is a game changer. Quote
Anakinisvader Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 I'm a bat and I'm offended with the batcave. It looks too much like my place of worship (even though I cant see). I think LEGO should stop production right now, send me a bunch for free, and offer me an apology letter. 2 Quote
chinothegeeko Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 I'm sure batman being in the lego movie helped make the decision. Quote
