I thought Abrams did a great job of incorporating the old story line with the newer characters. I think Abrams will honor the old STAR WARS characters in the new film. This is great news IMO. I think Abrams will give a fresh new look, but with the old STAR WARS feel. George Lucas is still overseeing it. But it's just my opinion. Quote

George Lucas is still overseeing it. But it's just my opinion. Same here, though I do not think we will receive the old feel we had in the original trilogy, but something more modern. This film will be a 'Committee Film' due to its large scale and because the Mouse owns the rights to this series so Abrams will have less say in it than Star Trek. Trek was great, and Abrams wasn't even a fan of Star Trek, so I can only imagine how well SW could be if he is really allowed to use his ideas and make this his movie. Quote
