Finally found some Series 9 Minifigures! Had to bite the bullet and shopped at TRU since Target is taking forever to get these. I was successful in using the feel method to get the one I wanted - Mr. Good and Evil. His top hat is easy to find and then the bottle was the secondary piece I felt for. So far I have not missed using the feel method for whatever unique piece each character has. The only difficulty is going through a bunch of packets if I am looking for a specific character.

Yes, it does take quite a bit of time to do this, but it certainly does pay off in the end. I'm in the same boat as you with Target for some reason not getting these yet still. I have no idea why, this is bloody ridiculous! It's the middle of freakin' February already and still nothing yet. All my fingers are crossed on someone around me getting them so I do not get stuck ordering online, cause then I'm boned.

I tried my hand at "smooshing" some figs at TRU. I needed the judge and roller derby girl. I failed miserably. I don't know if it was the pressure or what but I could never find the gavel or roller skates. I bought 5 packs which I thought might be what I needed but ended up with a cop, 2 waiters, roman emperor and dr. splitz.

Bummer.

I'll admit that there are times every now & then when I pick up a mystery packet, feel around for a while and still cannot find what I'm looking for to determine just who the heck is in there. Whenever that happens I just say "screw it, pass", put it aside and go to the next one. I may go back to that one after smooshing some others. The little break does help to clear the head. That and finding what you want in another gives a needed little confidence boost.

Well, at least you have found any at all. Still, neither my nearby Target or Wal-Mart have any f***ing Series 9, dang it! Normally I wouldn't stress it out so much but between LEGO listing them as "Retiring Soon" (which is utter bulls**t if you ask me) and we are well into the new year with no one besides LEGO & Ripoffs R Us carrying them, I'm starting to get beyond being just 'a little ticked off'.

I will not get stuck having to buy those dang things online, you'll never get a whole series that way.

Hey, If they plan to stick me with about $50 to get a complete set of 16, I am going to get just that!

I don't need to have tons of worthless repeats I'll never use or want.

Looks like you are not the only one having trouble finding these. I have read a couple of posts that stated that their TRU didn't have many and cannot find them anywhere else. I have lucked out both at my local Meijer and TRU. Unfortunately, I did a lot of blind buying and still do not have a set. I have around 35+ series 9 right now. Might just end up trading some for other figures I like or maybe some polybags.

The way how things have gone and the overall sound I'm hearing from others makes me wonder what the heck is going on with the MINIFIGURES? Did they become a Toys R Us & LEGO exclusive item all of a sudden or what?! It figures, the second I perfect my smooshing technique, LEGO has to go and throw a monkey wrench into it all. ......Damn.

I have been getting some of these this week at my local TRU. An OK deal with their BOGO 50% sale going on right now. They end up about $2.40 each. I successfully used the feel method with the packs to locate a policeman, waiter, chicken suit guy and knight.

minifigures were bogo'able?

i was told they weren't included

argh!

  • 4 weeks later...

Opened my box of Series 9 last night and I must say I am disappointed with how Lego have portioned out the minifigs. I know why they have done it, but to only get two full sets in a box is a bit silly. I understand that there are army builders out there who must be catered for, but why not make it 3 full sets and then there is still 12 remaining packets left to throw in extra knights, etc.

I've used the 'feel' method for a couple of years now, but what's really odd to me is how I can't seem to find the Plumber for Series 9. It's the last one I need to complete the series, and you would think it wouldn't be too hard to identify...

The Policeman is definitely my favorite! I scored 40 series 9's today for $1.99 a piece from my local Five Below. I did some smooshing and so far I've found the Heroic Knight, Mr. Good and Evil, Plumber, Mermaid, Roman Emperor, Cyclops, and the Policeman! I must say I like the Heroic Knight a lot too. Thank you for extending the poll limit to 16 Jeff, and thanks for setting up the poll OTK!!

I like the Plumber because his plunger is actually rubber.

It is kinda funny but as wierd as it sounds the plunger is as it should be. Course I wouldn't suggesting actually using it! Ha ha.

The policeman is spot on IMO. He looks cool and tough.

He's the best Lego take on the traditional officer of the law. Very realisitic and true to life in my opinion. In short, he looks like a real cop! I have a few of him since I think they'll go great with a modular style Precinct I'm thinking of. Nothing much now but the idea is in there somewhere.

I'm not as enthused with most in this series. I onky own one so far and got the Heroic Knight. I like him and am pleased, but I think my favorite is the Fortune Teller, then the Waiter. I know, everyone thinks I'm lame, but to each his own. :-)
