kenchu2000
I just sold a $200 item on ebay to a domestic buyer. The buyer has a score of 30, 100% positive feedback. The buyer has already paid but he has requested me to place a packing slip in the box with the item price showing only $40. He said he doesn't want his family members to see it is a $200 item. Personally I have no problem doing that, but do you guys foresee any possibility of scam here?

stephen_rockefeller
How about asking him if it's OK if you don't include a packing slip at all? Sounds fishy.
kenchu2000
Why not just leave the price off the packing slip? Not sure, the buyer said he wants to show it is a $40 item.
stephen_rockefeller
Not wanting them to know it's 200 is different from wanting them to think it's 40 bucks. Who knows with all the eBay scams going on these days then again could be legit.
lowillsw
I don't ever include a packing slip since Ebay opened. Is that a issue?
stephen_rockefeller
I have never used packing slips either......just a handwritten note thanking them for the purchase and letting them know my direct contact info in case there is a problem. kenchu2000
Ok, sounds good. I will not include it then. Thanks.
Darth_Raichu
I have not seen any way to modify the price on the packing slips. You have ability to show price or hide it, but not to modify it.
lowillsw
If I remembered correctly, you are supposed to write the item # on the packing label with the buyer address and include a packing slip. I don't think many do that anymore. You can just tell him you are not going to include the packing slip. You should be cover as long as you have the tracking info furnish to the buyer in the case of a scam.
