biniou
So the deal is I can get them for 89 euros (MSRP 159 and out of stock). We know this one is likely to be gone in the near future but I suspect there will be another production run before Christmas. We also know there will be a remake next year but in what price bracket? Do I get them at 89 and try to flip betting on an EOL or shop shortage at Christmas? Will the long term investment potential not be affected by the remake e.*** people will prefer to ge the new version at list Price if it is say 300 euros than to pay 200 euros or so for the older one? Interested to know your thoughts. I have one MF already but it cost 113 so I am hanging on to it until EOL. Short term or long term, new version or not... I don't know what kind of investor you are (do you buy 3 or 30 units of a set ?), but anyhow 89 Edited November 14, 2014 by biniou
Val-E
I have set a 4k investment Budget -when I reach that I either sell or stop buying. Within that limit I would prefer to have a varied portfolio but not too diverse (at the moment that includes modulars, technic, architecture and star wars)
Ciglione
If you find some on discount I would buy them. It is a nice and iconic set from the original trilogy. Almost everyone knows this ship. Yes, it has been around since 2011. But so what!? I feel demand will remain no matter what. Just my 0.02
mlionel20
Seems like this has sold out at the official Lego website, is this a record? it's only within the year of production No signs saying "out of stock, expected to ship XX Dec 2014", just "sold out"....like SSD and TH What do you guys think? Iena78
With 4k budget i will not diversify much , 89
Locutus001
With 4k you can't do much, so I'd go for 1-3 sets each modulars/UCS Star Wars/other expensive exclusives mix (+ maybe 2-4+ MF for that price!!!).

Val-E
This one is now sold out in all Amazon EU except for Germany (order limit 10) and Italy (order limit 2) and Lego shop is still out of stock. Will there be another batch coming before Christmas or is it done?
Ciglione
I just cleaned out my local toyshop of this one. I bought the last single piece they had at a 30% discount. I believe it is done. Now let the appreciation waiting game begin?
cladner
also becoming hard to find in US - at least by me in western mass. i cleaned out the only WM in 50 miles with any left yesterday (2) . otherwise walmart and target both sold out online and instore when i check online stock. yes this set tends to go out of stock this time of year but not this early. i think its close to being done too - only thing is you can still order 5 at shop at home in US. feels lame but i am going to buy a couple more at msrp if they are still in stock at shop at home to get the second holiday set. i think this set will do very well post EOL. seapotato
TRU Canada raised the price by $20 so now it is $199.99. Wonder if they know sthn is up or is it just holiday markups?
tractorboy
Don't know if it's been mentioned...but the MF will feature (flying and firing its blasters) in the new SW trailer which will be shown at cinemas next month.

tractorboy
On Amazon UK now at 29% off.
Crustybeaver
On Amazon UK now at 29% off. I'm guessing they're matching Asda Direct. I am going to wait till midnight to see what I can pick up from LEGO Shop at Home before committing to these. It's one of the cheapest I've seen the Falcon and it's bound to be a winner. Guest TabbyBoy
I do like this MF and have one in my collection. I've not bought any to invest in as I have a feeling that the market may be 20,000 leagues under the sea for a long while after EOL. Availability of these has been massive. Even years later, I'm still gutted from not buying that 10179 from Modelzone the day before it disappeared for good. I'll not miss out on the "70179" when it's released if there ever is such a beast. Amazon's UK price is good and I'm quite tempted TBH but, you can order up to 30 which says it all for the amount in the wild.

Guest TabbyBoy
@cladner... It's the "danger" of a newer/better one in 2015 that concerns me. If only we knew how many were made, 2,000,000?
CNH1974
I seem to remember this set was 30% off two years ago when I was looking for my first investment set. And last year. EOL was discussed both times. I above always been a bit nervous of SW sets as they always seem so widely available. But my b-wing is doing well. :)
Val-E
Still OOS at Lego shop and stock now drying up in local shops and Amazon EU (except for UK). Anyone had more news on whether this one is done for good?
peku
In France, the MF 7965 has disappeared from all toys website and B&M shops too. For me, it's done. Thanks to StarWars VII, I bet they planned to release a new version of the ship for the movie. It was a quick stop for that set ; that should be a specific act from Lego I think. Tomorrow, new teaser for the new movie: MF will feature in it without a doubt

In my opinion Lego is doing to many strange things in this theme lately. Which would justify alot of changes in the film. Or the other way around. The return of Harrison Ford (He's not flying anything else, is he?) Plus, leaked photos all point to the return of this ship.

DFC01
It's been widely reported that it features flying towards the camera at the end of the new trailer. Besides that, JJAbrams released a teaser 2 months ago with MF in it. It will show up in the movie.
