Or keep admire and never open!

I've dumoed all mine for a profit except for my sealed one to keep.

Dude, you need to BUILD! :)

I'm selling two thirds of mine now... And since I added the misspelling of millennium to the title, views and watchers have gone wayyyy up. A tip I also appreciated.

I've scaled back plans I had to start unloading some older SW stuff until around June-July as the hype for the new movie starts to build... Except for these. I literally bought some I had no place to store so essentially because I was a dumbass I'm selling. Heh, last half dozen or so orders have been piling up in places Lego doesn't belong!

LEGO belongs everywhere* !

*That is unless your wife/husband/housemate/boss says otherwise.

It is everywhere:

- my basement workshop

- my garage

- my basement furnace/sump/vacuum closet

- our third floor

- our dining room

- our basement finished area

- our kitchen

- our dining room (yep listing that one twice)

- my office is bursting

- under my bed

- behind the TV in my bedroom

- my porch (last red fives have no place to go)

I piled a bunch of creative suitcases in the original shipping boxes in my four year olds closet and he took to

climbing the pile and sitting on them (all gone now).

And the boxes and air pillows are just icing on the cake!

I have the trigger finger ready to sell my remaining 7965s when the new pics get leaked.  Of course, that could increase the hold factor x10 if it's underwhelming or under 1000 pieces.

Sorry, could you explain the reasoning on this? The pics of the new set will drive demand for the old one?

Is there any solid evidence yet of a new MF coming?

If by solid evidence, you mean leaked set picture, set #'s, etc, then no I don't think so.

However, people who are more in touch with the LEGO underground say there have been multiple rumors of a new MF for a long time. I believe a poster on another website (Eurobricks?) claimed to have knowledge of someone who said they had seen a preview of the new MF with light bricks/effects.

From a common sense point of view (new movie, new trailer, the definitive SW ship), you would believe that there will be a new MF. However, that same common sense would mean that R2 would have stayed but it is essentially gone. And it would also mean that there should be a new X-Wing and there's been no rumors about that.

I don't disagree with the urge to sell now but.... Every Time one of these Star Wars sets is doubted it seems to blow expectations out of the water.

Nobody knows that the next MF will be as good as the current/past. It's still selling for less than it did at Christmas a few years ago. Not sure that it won't hit a point where the majority have gotten rid of it and the price climbs another $50-$75

Just food for thought.. Not an expert by any means, but I'm holding on to some of mine until I have more info about the new MF

If it's generally crappy looking, small (stature or piece count), unstable build, or full of only new characters from "Force Awakens", it could spark a price jump in the positive direction for 7965.

Just to play devil's advocate....

Look at what the new 75020 Sail Barge has done to drive down prices of the original 6210 Sail Barge and most people agree that the old Sail Barge looks better, more true to the movie, etc but the new Sail Barge has far superior minifigs.

Same thing might happen to the MF.

Everyone seems to agree a new square-radar-dish MF will be available by Christmas. The debate would be on price point:

For a set like MF I'm guessing Lego is looking at 3 price points

1) ~$80 700-800 piece playset

2) ~$130 1200 piece playset

3) ~$200+ 2000 piece UCS style display set

All 3 options are appealing from Lego's perspective

The low price point appeals to price-conscious parents and would see large sales volume.

7965 already proved to be a big seller at the mid-tier price point so hey why not just refresh the radar dish, update the minifigures and slap a Disney logo on the box.

The high UCS price point would pair nicely with the Slave 1 and Tie Fighter and maybe cool the jets on the 10179 price a little (probably seen as a win by Lego).

For selfish reasons I'm hoping for #1 as it will not negatively impact 7965's future value (whereas the other 2 will).

Couple of other points to ponder:

- they haven't hit the 700+ piece count price-point set for the MF in 10 years

- UCS style pipeline already seems full with Slave 1 , Tie, and the rumoured Hoth set this year. (Was the Hoth set supposed to be UCS?)

I don't disagree, but there can be different factors for moving it's value either way.
