blocktator Posted December 24, 2013 Posted December 24, 2013 Has anyone noticed that the 7965 is almost nowhere to be found except the Lego store? Soon to be done or just low supply? Quote
exciter1 Posted December 24, 2013 Posted December 24, 2013 Has anyone noticed that the 7965 is almost nowhere to be found except the Lego store? Soon to be done or just low supply? Maybe a little bit of both, but it's a sought after set for a Christmas gift. It was hard to find last year at this time as well. Quote
MartinP Posted December 24, 2013 Posted December 24, 2013 Has anyone noticed that the 7965 is almost nowhere to be found except the Lego store? Soon to be done or just low supply? I noticed that. I could not find this set anywhere this month. It is a very popular Christmas gift and that may be the reason why it is in short supply. Quote
Mos_Eisley Posted December 24, 2013 Posted December 24, 2013 Why do you think this version of the MF will dramatically outperform the two previous non UCS versions? I don't think it will hit $300 unless a replacement is never made, but the previous system Falcon could be sold for $300 prior to the current version being released. The BP doesn't go back that far, but I sold them for that much. Quote

I hope it continues to be sold out for Jan and Feb. I have 4 to sell as the space is really needed for recently retired sets. Quote

DoNotInsertIntoMouth Posted December 24, 2013 Posted December 24, 2013 My TRU just got in like 20 after not having any for months so I don't think its going anywhere. If it does, those will all be mine. I think this one rises quickly after retirement but will plateau quickly honestly. Quote
TheOrcKing Posted December 25, 2013 Posted December 25, 2013 Has anyone noticed that the 7965 is almost nowhere to be found except the Lego store? Soon to be done or just low supply? My Target did have it in stock these past few months while Walmart already moved on to Jabba's Sail Barge. I have a bad feeling the latest Millennium Falcon won't be leaving anytime soon. We are probably looking at the next Live Star. :fie: Quote
matrosov Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 Just snagged last one on the shelf at TRU PM to Walmarts of $130. What do you guys think of this set as a long term investment. 3 years after EOL? Will it go double triple MSRP or is it not realistic with this set? Quote

It all depends on what they do with the new falcon in the new movies. If that comes out right as this one retires, its going to hurt it. 2X MSRP is $280 - I don't see that for this set. However, people have been able to get these for $90ish. I would say it could reach $200 and that would be good money. Quote

I wonder though, if the FB is the most common set in peoples BP portfolios, is this the second? Quote

If we do see Han Solo make an appearance in the next movie, in future years I doubt he would have the same ship making the old falcon worth that much more. Quote

They've said their intent is to follow the Avengers model where they also produce origin films for big characters such as Solo... so the Falcon is definitely going to be a prominent figure going forward. Sauromosis Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 Considering that the Falcon is already being built for episode 7, it's not hearsay: http://latino-review.com/2013/09/j-j-abrams-building-star-wars-production-spaces-in-l-a/ Quote

Sauromosis Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 Latino Review has the best rumors...like the crazy kid from Breaking Bad is gonna be Luke's son! http://latino-review.com/2014/01/the-4-most-important-star-wars-stories-of-the-year-so-far/ Hope you all like the idea of someone killing Boba Fett and taking his place! wha wha wha??? 1 Quote
jaisonline Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 They (Rebel Force radio interviews) said Kasden was brought back to co-author the script with Abrams. This was also due since Disney wants to give Luke, Leia, and Solo a proper send off. If this is true (and I don't see why it wouldn't be). Heck, can you imagine a follow-up movie to the original trilogy not involving the 3 main heroes? Anyway, the Falcon will return along with a Lego refresh (UCS or not). Thus, our beloved 7975 will never get a chance to truly appreciate in value after retirement. Stinks... Quote
binici Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 This set seems to be popping back up in Wally Marts and Targets around my area. It could see life for another year, but once the hype of the new movies with teaser and trailers start leaking the MF in the movie (if it is in it) then $$$$$!!! Quote
nolanfan34 Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 Rays of hope/things to root for regarding 7965: - Next release could be UCS only, meaning people will also want the "cheap" one. - New Falcon could be significantly different color - black as some have speculated. Would still mean demand for the old gray one. - Rumors could be wrong, maybe Falcon doesn't come back until a possible Solo movie, meaning there would be a nice window for this to hit $250 if it retires. Will probably all be wrong, but there you go. :-) Quote
matrosov Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 Hmm looks like paying $130 for this one is taking on too much risk. Back to TRU it goes. Need to snag it below retail. Quote
DoNotInsertIntoMouth Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 I think a new falcon can be seen two different ways: Hurt the value because its newer and better Helps value because this is probably the last one of the old trilogy to be made (whether it is all time is irrelevant - just in peoples minds). Quote
astroricardo Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 130 isn't good - Walmart and Amazon have it in stock for 113.99 Quote
rich79 Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 Has anyone an idee when this set will go eol? Quote
