StompingFreak Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 Ok, I have your attention. I am part of the consumer panel(me and 10,000 others), for Dr Who. They are planing a build a figure, set of figures. They look, build, style of Lego(not finished prototype images show(the survey wouldn't allow me to copy, screen print, any image)). Not sure if they are CB or Lego(they are that good). But the pictures on the survey look really good. From the questions asked, It looks like the BBC are regretting their partnership with CB. Just giving Brickpicker boy's and girl's the heads up. Stomping Quote
trenth Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 Great news! Were there any minifigures? Quote
Quacs Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 Intriguing license for Lego, I would imagine... Quote
Ed Mack Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 Big Tom Baker fan. I grew up playing with LEGO sets while watching Doctor Who on Saturday afternoons. The best of times as they say... 1 Quote
StarCityBrickCompany Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 Big Tom Baker fan. I grew up playing with LEGO sets while watching Doctor Who on Saturday afternoons. The best of times as they say... Yes, Tom Baker was my Dr. Who as well. Quote
willy431 Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 I also grew up watching dr who on PBS---is it still on--somehow/where? I tried to watch the old show---but couldn't sit through it. It's amazing how many shows I used to love, and not can't bear to watch. Quote
justafrog Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 I wish you wouldn't tease me, Stomping. (And I really, really hope Dr. Who happens with Lego.) 1 Quote
Noodlenut Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 I wonder why LEGO hasn't tried to get a license to make Dr. Who sets. I'm not a big fan of the show, but it is extremely popular and would jump of the shelves. Quote
Grolim Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 Lego Tardis would sell like hotcakes! Would look great on display. Thanks for sharing Stomping. look forward to seeing the result. 1 Quote
Quacs Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 Just changed the thread title to something equally provocative but more on the point of the thread...carry on. Quote
DoNotInsertIntoMouth Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 Worst thing about this would be my wife will not care that I don't want to buy legos at retail. Quote
StompingFreak Posted November 14, 2013 Author Posted November 14, 2013 Great news! Were there any minifigures? Every image were min figures. They were mock up's, but they didn't have that CB cheapness about them. Stomping Quote
StompingFreak Posted November 14, 2013 Author Posted November 14, 2013 Worst thing about this would be my wife will not care that I don't want to buy legos at retail. Sorry mate. But lets see what 2014 brings. Stomping Quote
StompingFreak Posted November 14, 2013 Author Posted November 14, 2013 Just changed the thread title to something equally provocative but more on the point of the thread...carry on. Fine, feel free. The ban was for the Doctor Who CP. But i wanted to risk it for you lot on the forums. Stomping Quote
StompingFreak Posted November 14, 2013 Author Posted November 14, 2013 I wonder why LEGO hasn't tried to get a license to make Dr. Who sets. I'm not a big fan of the show, but it is extremely popular and would jump of the shelves. I understand that the BBC would like to keep with British company's. But at the end of the day, the beeb are renowed for keeping as mush cash for themselves. But the amount of complants fan's have made about CB... If not Lego, CB have to up their game %1000 or its another fail. Stomping Quote
ApesInCapes Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 I doubt it this. I can only imagine Dr. Who pales in comparison in recognizability if pitted against most themes and brands Lego has partnered with. Quote
Pirate Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 There is no way TLG would ever license Dr. Who for a regular set theme. Not going to happen. Quote

Dude, I'm only reporting what I have seen. I really wish I could have got images for you lot. The plushies, looked nice, the vinyle figures are ok, the new reward screme could be good. But the mini build a figure looked amazing. Poo, Poo it all you like, but I was asked my opinion, was asked for, regarding new toy line's. Lets just see what happens. Stomping Quote

TheOrcKing Posted November 15, 2013 Posted November 15, 2013 Been wanting to post this. Here is Rowan Atkinson as The Doctor! Back on point, I am beyond rooting for Lego to make sets on Doctor Who if it happens. 1 Quote
Alpinemaps Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 My wife would hate this, because I'd buy everything. I would absolutely love this. I'd love to have a Tardis and a couple of Doctors walking around my winter village. 1 Quote
StompingFreak Posted December 8, 2013 Author Posted December 8, 2013 Ok everyone. I have been in helm-ulme-stead(spelling sucks) for the last two days. I was invited to give feedback on some of the new toy range. Sorry, but its CB minifigures. But bar from the cheap plastic, they are identical to lego. Form what I was told, small actions figures sell better if they are or resembale Lego. The have half of their 1st series made as prototypes. Here's the good news, scale, parts, molds, are the same as lego. No news of a release date, but I was impressed enough to post on here. Stomping Quote
