derickb81 Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 i went there because its 5 mins from my place and i saw two kraang lab escapes the first time i've seen lego sets there Quote
Huskers1236 Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 I have seen Battle Packs at my local Walgreens in the past, but never actual sets that cost more than $10. Quote
comicblast Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 Surprising. I almost never go to a Walgreen's but a couple are within walking distance of my house. I think I will give it a shot some time... Quote
ApesInCapes Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 I've seen Star Wars planet sets there during the holidays. During those times it's worth paying attention to the Walgreens ads because they deeply discount their toys. While there isn't a lot to choose from (usually just one planet in my case) you can swoop in for a 50% discount which is hard to say no to. I've seen series five collectible minifigures there too but never at a discount so I passed on them. Quote
Rich B Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 I've never seen LEGO at my local Walgreens. The CVS and Rite Aid near me only carry Mega Blocks, which does nothing for us Lego fans! Quote
Darth Lego Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 I have never seen any Lego at my local Walgreens. I wonder if it is more of a seasonal thing they do around Christmas because they get more business then. Quote
shudameister Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 I regularly see minifigures, but only ages after they have been released. Quote
emes Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 I see LEGO at Walgreens all the time, but never at a low enough price to make it worthwhile. They often have smaller sets. Quote
Jimmyh70 Posted March 21, 2013 Posted March 21, 2013 Picked up two series 5 and two series 8 Minifigures today at Walgreens. They had a buy 1 get 50% off 2nd. Quote
JoshTX Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 Bringing this thread back from the dead, my Walgreens has those same TMNT Krang escapes but they are now marked with orange stickers down to 8.99. Not enough of a discount for me to purchase and there are only 4 of them, but if they get down to 5 bucks I'll ****** them up. Quote
Achilles Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 Hey gang, I know Walgreens typically has a small Lego section of mostly low cost sets - Does anyone know if they have any sort of regular clearance times (ala Target/Kmart) when they may mark down and move out remaining stock? If so, are their markdowns worth looking at? Or do they ever offer any sort of coupons/sales? Thanks! Quote
ApesInCapes Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 It's pretty rare they are discounted since they are meant to take advantage of people on impulse or desperation buys. Sometimes they are reduced in price for Black Friday. Quote
Quacs Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 I saw some Walgreens Lego sets on clearance last January, but the discounts weren't that great, and the sets were small and mediocre. Quote
dbianco Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 Some Star Wars, Friends, City, and TMNT. Minifigures series 10 also 25% off Quote
terrymc4677 Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 I have never checked walgreens for lego. Are their normal retail prices in line with most other retailers, or do they mark up their items like TRU does before they go on "sale". Thanks for the heads up. Maybe I will stop at a few while I am driving around town this week. Quote
justafrog Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 Going off foggy memory here, I think the one near us prices their sets at MSRP (a bunch of little stuff), not TRU-style marked up. Quote
MartinP Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 The last time I saw Lego sets in a Walgreens was about two years ago. If I remember correctly the prices were around MSRP or a little lower. Quote
TheOrcKing Posted November 18, 2013 Posted November 18, 2013 Going off foggy memory here, I think the one near us prices their sets at MSRP (a bunch of little stuff), not TRU-style marked up.Foggy is one word you really shouldn't use. Everytime I see it in one of your posts, my mind inserts an "r" and I keep reading it as "froggy". :cheese: 3 Quote
Huskers1236 Posted November 18, 2013 Posted November 18, 2013 The Walgreens by me carries small Star Wars sets and they're all at retail. They did have Series 10, but I'm not messing with those in a store that specializes in health supplies. Quote
Anakinisvader Posted November 18, 2013 Posted November 18, 2013 Going off foggy memory here, I think the one near us prices their sets at MSRP (a bunch of little stuff), not TRU-style marked up. When I first read this I thought it said "FROGGY" memory. I thought you were like Batman using his bat senses. 1 Quote
Msudawgs56 Posted November 18, 2013 Posted November 18, 2013 The two sets at my Walgreens are one of the battle packs from Star Wars and the smallest TMNT set. Each were 14.99. So if 25% off, it would almost be at Walmart's price. Quote
Qaz Posted November 18, 2013 Posted November 18, 2013 Had to stop to pick up some meds, and thought I'd grab some Series 10 minis while I was there. Oops - you have to be a rewards member to get the 25% off! I just know I had a Mr. Gold, too! Quote
wholovesboo Posted November 19, 2013 Posted November 19, 2013 I've noticed my local Walgreens suddenly has a Lego endcap. All prices are MSRP or marked up. I was able to get a couple of Friends animal foil packs (which were marked up to about $5.99) for $2.15 each by using those rewards coupons you get from buying certain toiletries and over the counter meds, etc, that I usually have to get anyway. You just have to look through their week circular to see which products give you those coupons back. You usually have to be a Rewards member, but that's free to sign up. Quote
Ed Mack Posted November 19, 2013 Posted November 19, 2013 Just did some LEGO shopping at Walgreens. Solid deals on STAR WARS sets. All at MSRP. Quote
DoNotInsertIntoMouth Posted November 19, 2013 Posted November 19, 2013 I have never seen lego in Walgreens. There is a new one near my house thats a little bigger so I may check there. Quote
