mrsmavrik Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 Hi all Joined the site and been lurking since early this year and making my first post. 44 year old dad of 2 young sons that walked into a Lego store for first time in March and saw a display of the SSD. WOW!!! I had no idea and I was hooked. Love the Star Wars UCS sets. Since that first visit I have purchased the the UCS X wing, 2 B Wings, General Grievous UCS, and some other smaller sets. Eyeing a couple SSD's for my next purchase. Quote
DoNotInsertIntoMouth Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 I am working on building the SSD. Its humungous. You gotta get a R2S2 - pretty sweet set as well in terms of UCS. 1 Quote

If R2D2 = R2S2, then I agree. B-Wing is also a personal favorite, both as a set and investment. Great choices. Aaand...Welcome to BrickPicker. 1 Quote

MartinP Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 Welcome to Brickpicker. My favorite UCS set is the R2-D2. I got one earlier this year, and I am hoping to get another UCS set by the end of the year. Quote
willy431 Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 Welcome to the site! Still looking for someone to go to lego vip sale in Braintree if you are interested! Beware to Boston robin hood on craigslist. You need to jump on any deals you see and drive right out to them! I thought he was gone...but burned me again yesterday! 1 Quote
mrsmavrik Posted November 8, 2013 Author Posted November 8, 2013 Hi Willy When is the braintree store VIP event? Quote
Noodlenut Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 Welcome to Brickpicker! The SSD is a really cool set. There are rumors that it will retire this year. I'm hoping to get one, considering that it would be a great investment, and it would also be a great set to build. Quote
Bernard74 Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 Welcome to the site, had the pleasure of visiting your great city last year and hope to come again! Quote
willy431 Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 Nov 23rd 9am. Are you in the city--what is your home store? I got invited to the natick and burlington as well. Didn't rsvp to any yet. I can send you the invite if you are closer to one of those stores. Says you need a photo id and vip card--but if there are 80 people I doubt they will turn you away with just the card. Quote
