binici
Curious if anyone thinks that there should be a forum called "Multi-media" or "Brick-Videos" something of that nature? Posting reviews (users), showing off our collections, rants and other videos related to LEGOs. Discuss!
MartinP
That would be interesting. I think we should let Ed and Jeff make the final decision.
comicblast
So you basically want everything BP forum, gallery and review system, except in video format? Seems redundant, and doesn't seem like it would be used by that many people, since we can basically do it all already.
Grolim
Posting reviews (users) See each sets individual pages, many have reviews, or just look here http://www.brickpicker.com/reviews/ showing off our collections Here is a forum thread http://community.brickpicker.com/topic/4500-what-do-your-lego-displayscollections-look-like/?hl=display There are also quite a few if you browse the Gallery section: http://community.brickpicker.com/gallery/ rants See here: http://community.brickpicker.com/topic/6535-complaint-thread/ and other videos related to LEGOs. http://community.brickpicker.com/topic/4390-favorite-brickfilms/ People can post embedded videos in any forum thread that adds to discussion. Guest eightbrick
Brickfilms you say? Yes there is! Two actually (both a pretty small and the first is basically dead). Brickfilms.com (collection of older flicks, pretty good introduction to the art I guess) http://brickfilms.com/ Bricksinmotion (this is the big one. They used to have lots of rocking contests in there giving away huge sets, editing programs and cameras (DSLRs ) but alas, it's died down in recent years. The biggest Brickfilm forum and my personal favorite (lots of cool tutorials if you want to become a brickfilmer too)) http://bricksinmotion.com/ Eurobricks has a subforum dedicated to Brickflicks. To tell you the truth I don't really like how it's set up, its basically like online lessons where only registered "students" can post and teachers respond. Not much fun at all IMO, but nonetheless; http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showforum=120 That's about it for Brickfilming websites/forums, but if you are looking for awesome brickfilmers, I got a list of those too (First rule of mine is to stay away from people who just started brickfilming to increase their audience/its not what they do - sorry Brickqueen and Brickshow... but... seriously?) http://www.youtube.com/user/Keshen8 (Amazing animation. Action and comedy) http://www.youtube.com/user/forrestfire101 (Definitely not one of my favorites, but you can't argue with the fact that he is the most popular brickfilmer out there. Action and comedy) http://www.youtube.com/user/artifexcreation (Great animated set reviews... but his storied animations are a bit meh) http://www.youtube.com/user/BrotherhoodWorkshop (LOTR Action and comedy) https://www.youtube.com/user/twickabrick (Excellent animator, a bit of everything) http://www.youtube.com/user/NXTManiac94 (Amazing animation and imaginative comedies. Be sure to check out Houdini!) http://www.youtube.com/user/xxxfancypantsxxx (One of the posterboys of the late 2000s, now back animating again mostly SW) http://www.youtube.com/user/ZachMG (Another top notch guy along the lines of Keshen in skill and style) http://www.youtube.com/user/0ldScratch (On the decline, but definitely worth a look-see) http://www.youtube.com/user/thefourmonkeys4 (A family of animators. I don't watch them much, but they are pretty popular) http://www.youtube.com/user/mobdeli (The smoothest animation you will ever see) http://www.youtube.com/user/Paganomation (Another 2000s posterboy with official Lego connections) http://www.youtube.com/user/MlCHAELHlCKOXFilms (A basic animator, pretty famous for making simple concepts entertaining) That should give you a good start, if you are looking for any kind of animators in particular, don't hesitate to ask (I know my stuff when it comes to brickfilms... or so I like to think ) EDIT: Oh wait... *facepalm* I totally read that wrong. Kill me now... (LOL sorry - and yes I support a subforum for brickfilms... that said it doesn't really go with the purpose of the site)
boxofcorey
showing off our collections Here is a forum thread http://community.brickpicker.com/topic/4500-what-do-your-lego-displayscollections-look-like/?hl=display There are also quite a few if you browse the Gallery section: http://community.brickpicker.com/gallery/ Am I the only one that hates the way the gallery works? I find the software frustrating. I would love an expansion into a forum for people to display their MOCs, or their collections, or whatever they have built with the bricks. binici
If done correctly, then you can organize and display photos, media and other content much cleaner. I too find the gallery a bit wonky. I'll try to dig up a few sites with examples, but this was just a thought.
