Australian General LEGO Update

Not sure if this is a LEGO website glitch but there is heaps of Star Wars sets 10% off on the Australian Lego website just as it ticked over to the 4th May

Including the UCS Sandcrawler, Tie Fighter, Ewok Village and Slave1

Well this is not a glitch. Just checked and the whole lot of Star Wars sets are discounted by 10%. Not a great deal but better than nothing if there is a reason to purchase from Lego LEGO Shop at Home.

it's better than nothing but unfortunately nothing like what they get in the US. Just had a look around at retailers online and haven't seen any May the 4th specials.

Think it's the best we are gonna get for bigger sets. I used a few vip's and got another Sandcrawler for $372 which is not too bad I spose.

Ok cheers Gazza. Was thinking about buying into this but may give it a miss and stick to my usual suspects.

I'm in the same boat, man. I've actually been holding off buying anything lego related for a couple of weeks. Saving for the bigger sets :)

Didn't see boxes for sale, but had a look at their other Lego prices. Geez, no wonder I've never bought from them haha.

Yep they aren't cheap.

I phone a local store when I want to by box - reckon they are happy to move the stock.

Certainly not a shop to go to unless your after Lego Ideas, Modulars & Winter Village.

Took your advice and emailed mr toys. Bloke rang me a bit later, said he had one last sealed box in the whole company.

Went against my own advice and bought it anyway for $300. Let's see if it pays off or tanks.

Anyone know if the GBHQ will be available retail in Oz and if so any thoughts on who would carry it?

I've heard rumours that the Disney figs are only a single drop, so as stock starts to dry up you should be fine. I bought a box and it took me 3 days to sell the full 3 sets. Compared to other series where I clear out about 3 boxes a day.

What makes them super profitable is when Australia gets ahead of the international release.

Interesting. I've never tried to the quick flip thing, as I always assumed with our retail pricing it made it unprofitable.

Heres hoping the single drop rumour is true. Maybe I can be a dreaded QFLL. :)

Can I ask for opinions on what is the best platform to sell a large UCS set?

Ebay? Bricklink? Have sold once on bricklink before. That was pretty easy.

Stuck the question in here. Didn't want to start a whole new thread for just one question.

Thanks for any advice. :)

If you know what price you want and are thick skinned I would try the facebook Lego buy sell swap australia group first. List it at around 6 in the evening, if it doesn't sell after a few hours try ebay.
