What do you guys think a good price for the medium sized Star Wars sets (Rey's speeder, carbon freezing chamber etc.) is? What kind of discount do you look for? I am really new to this!

I would consider these smaller rather than med sized. I'd get them for as cheap as possible. Only god if you want to hoard them for a few years I'm afraid.

Hey guys, short time collector, first time investor here, looking for a quick bit of advice.

Having only just got back into Lego and buying waayy too much for the collection already, was thinking of buying a few extras to offset the cost.

The first item I thought might be worthwhile taking the plunge on:

Benny's Spaceship, $104.  Reasonable?

I'd get onto that...  and please message me the name of the store that has it as I'd want one myself ;)

myer has the doctor who ideas set for $63.

picked up another couple this morning.

Brickbounties are down to $79 at Target. I've heard rumours that next week will be BOG50% for all toys including clearance items - so if you can find two, lay-by until next week.

Sorry new here.

What is BOG50% and Brickbounties?

I do apologise again.

Was going to tell you to read the forums more and work it out but I made a typo ;)

It's actually BOGO50% - Buy one, get one 50% off.

Brickbounty is the LEGO Pirates' ship that has retired a year after initial release (normal lifecycle is 2+ years).

Welcome :)

Over at the Whirlpool forum someone has sighted a list of sets that Toyworld will be getting in during the second half of the year.

Big Ben confirmed for October, new Technic/City/Creator coming in September and new Ideas sets in October/November.

Creator Expert sets coming are: Winter Village Toy Shop, Opera House, PC, PR, DO and Mini Cooper. No T1, TB, PS and Mixer has me intrigued but I'm not sure if this info can be relied upon.

Nice, I'll have to stock up on Mixers.

Didn't see this as reduced in the catalogue. Is this a local clearance act?

This was a local clearance

When selling on eBay au, do you need to have shipping to the US/internationally? I know it is optional but is it a given?

In the postage section, you can mark that you won't post internationally

just got back from Japan! went to a clickbrick store at tokyo station and got a batman and joker LED keychain and a couple of lego mouse mats :D

i wasn't game enough to buy sets per se as they would have been crushed on the way home. was very tempted to pick up a couple of extra mystery machines though haha!

Japan itself was amazing and i'd highly recommend that you all go one day :)

TRU having their buy one get one 50% off, nothing too exciting. Anyone in Australia caught sight of a 42043 Technic Mercedes Arcos? I am afraid I missed out on this one in the store. (Although still available in Lego LEGO Shop at Home.) And anyone know when the 42055 Technic Bucket Wheel Excavator will appear in store? I am guessing 4th quarter this year?

Check out Big W for the Arcos. Mine had a few a while back. Their regular price on it is $300, so with a 20% off sale and some gift card magic (a further 10% off) you should be able to get it for around $220, a massive saving on the $360 RRP.

I've been reading the non-Australian (most) forums, does Australia tend to have the reward points/ discounts that America does? I have never seen them or in the quantities it sound like there are in the US and other countries, but they sound great!

In regards to LEGO Shop at Home or normal retailers?

Thanks Jules_K. Yes i did noticed that Big W have them a while ago but alas...i hold off on buying as it was too 'new' out back then. Now i cannot find them in quite a few of the Big W around....
