Don't worry, I was over exaggerating ;)

hehehe

I didn't notice you also mentioned this. I was referring to Ryan's post. I know you move a lot of stock. BTW,  20 Trains; Mind = blown. Respect! I managed to get a grand total of one, which arrived undamaged (yay!)

So far I've only had one that arrived slightly crushed (which will be mine). They're handy, they will be paying off the Wife's Ferris wheel

has anyone ever sent a 10221 SSD or 10188 DS via post? I am struggling to find suitable boxes that would fit such large sets - any ideas?

What I would do is get a massive cardboard box, and with a proper cutting utensil fashion your own custom made box and reinforce it with plenty of packing tape. That's what I do with most sets. You want as little space between the set (which should be bubble wrapped) and the outer box as possible,. This will minimize any possible damage during the shipping process.

thanks Ed, we do have a box cutter somewhere that we can try and do this. honestly was trying to avoid this solution but have spent alot of time researching ordering boxes in Oz and unfortunately haven't found the equivalent of large re-inforced Uline boxes that are so easy to get in the States.

Yup, best solution for all medium to large shipments and you benefit from lower volumetric shipping costs too.

Raid your local supermarket's loading dock garbage bin and you won't have to pay a cent :)

Because of the retail price or how many years you think it will be made?

Probably referring to the lifespan, but they seem to get snapped up fairly quickly when a 20% sale arrives.

I think that this set could be around as long as they are making avengers movies, of which there is one slated for release in late 2019.

So I don't feel comfortable buying into a set that it my opinion won't retire before the release of the last movie.

I think most of the Super Heroes line falls into the "stay away" pile, unless it's something unique like X-Men.

Especially due to the amount of clones around. I work with a lot of young Chinese adults and most of them have no idea what a light saber is, or who Vader or Yoda are, but they sure as hell love their superheroes. For this reason, SW hasn't been affected by the 'attack of the clones' as much as the SH line.

Hi. I'm back. Uni is over. Now thinking quickly to put some of my stock up online. What's everyone after? I have managed to get a heap of monster mini figures during study. Any one know where I can get a scooby mansion.

So, I am now looking at architecture. The Louvre. Think the Trevi was released at a reasonable price point. This is going to have go on sale for me to buy. Still no scooby mansion :(.

Lourve was just released and is widely available, it makes no sense from an investment standpoint for at least the next 12 months.

You missed the Christmas boat with the Mystery Mansion, these were available for 20% off from Myer, DJ's and Big W in the last few months.

Not much available at local Big w's on the weekend.

Did pick 6 31019 Forest animals for $12 each. As this set is already retired and there are sompleted listing already on Feebay for $30 - $40. This was a bit of a no brainer for me.

Have a LEGO Shop at Home package which has been sitting at Alexandria since November 21st.

Anyone else experiencing long wait times?

Depends what status it's in. If it's showing either 'shipping information received' or 'shipping information approved' on the auspost website then it could either still be on its way or awaiting clearance at the port. Customs don't hold parcels from LEGO Shop at Home for inspection but the parcels do need to be released / picked up from Alexanderia and taken to the sorting facility in Chullora.

My parcel for which Australia Post received information on 17 November just arrived at my doorstep yesterday.
