Australian General LEGO Update

It is too expensive to buy things from overseas NOW - even with no GST.  It doesn't quite makes sense , with our dollar being so poor.  Adding gst will make people buy local instead. Maybe the Government wants to keep expenditure  local for the good of the Australian economy.

Haha it's never for the good of the economy, it's for the good of the government war chests.

'For the good of the Australian economy'- Even Tony would have a little chuckle over that. It's for government coffers and that's it.

It's true it would be a logistical nightmare to enforce. The gov't are drawing at straws because China are having a hard landing and there's a massive hole where mining industry revenue is no longer coming from.

Yes.

I imagine that there will be a sale at some point during September though.

Going to be a big month with Wall-E, TBBT, Scooby Doo, Force Awakens sets and S14 Minifigures coming out.

Already have a sealed box coming my way of the new CMF series - since I'm the self-declared king of Halloween ;)

Thinking PC maybe on the block, PS had another restock of 30x units last night ;(

FWIW, I've been telling people I've spoken to two Lego call centre members  this year, once in Jan and once this month and I told them both that 'Im saving up for PS and I was worried it might disappear'. They both said 'let me check' and told me not to worry as it'll be around for a while.

I too reckon PC might just take everyone by surprise and retire this year. Sure they changed the box, but IMO that doesn't mean crap.

Looking forward to the Wall E sets to become available at Lego LEGO Shop at Home. Swear it reads available on the 1st Sept but then after that it becomes coming soon.

I guess this is the delay that have been reported widely around the net? Hopefully it will come out soon.

Wall E is being recalled because of design flaws. I wouldn't be rushing out and buying him any time soon.

Apparently the head doesn't sit well and flops back if you try to position it in the looking up position. They are gonna redesign and re-release.

With Birds, Big Bang and now Wall E out on Ideas, I hope that the Ecto will get retired. I'm reasonably well stocked on that one (most bought with points rewards and on special) and I wanna start counting my beans.

Knew about the design flaw on the Wall E. Well i still bought one this morning anyway when i saw that it become available at LEGO Shop at Home. Limit of 1. Gheez Lego is being really tight nowdays. first the BBT has a limit of 1 and now the Wall E.

Target has discounted some LEGO Movie stock (around 30% off)

I already have a few SSS purchased at a deeper discount so I'll leave those be.

Might pick up a Dropship for building

Thanks for info! i have been holding back for the dropship and also SSS so will definitely go down to get one. Lego movie sets are hard to come by with a decent discount.

Big w has 20% off all lego sets until tomorrow, here I found a technic fire plane and did admire the deep sea city range. In Myers I was able to find Scooby Sets. Really happy about this. In toyworld found the small darth vader's imperial shuttle for $139. I still cannot get over the guy who managed to get the collectors edition for only $100 in the drop zone in Big W earlier in the year, as a result of this flash back, I placed this smaller ed. back on the shelf. Curse you my local BIG W.
