Australian General LEGO Update

I wouldn't say that it was a huge amount. I tend to stagger my purchases over the month and rarely go over the $250 per an order.

Do you use the same credit card? Do you make purchases under your partners name? Do you have different postal addresses? I found out recently that I could use my Post Office address for deliveries, you just have to sign up. This could make it perhaps more difficult for them to track. You could have some post delivered to post office in the next suburb...just a thought.  But the credit cards maybe the first to flag.

Went to pick up some click and collect sets from target - very damaged outer lego shipping box and both 75095's inside were very dented and creased. Just returned them on the spot as they had no other stock to exchange. I think the only way to get mint sets these days is to go through shelf stock and pick them out. Shipping damage I have found to be extremely common.

shipping damage, layby stacking damage. best bet is to grab and run. no more ties at my local, no EV, nothing exclusive.

I'm hearing crickets on this forum...Yep .will now go start a essay for uni. This one will not be so hard as getting a exclusive from target or shall I say a dinosaur world lego set. Will have to order these online from the lego shop itself.

Went in today for a restock of the smaller sets and they had about 4 "minty" EV in the entry way. I'm thinking these may have been a restock as the ones that I seen on Friday night were a little worse for wear.

It has been fairly quiet hasn't it. Maybe my prediction for mid-year has come around ;)

Has anyone taken advantage of the TRU 20% off sale?

Finished work early, and drove 17km to one of the only two TRU in Bris. I got 2 Ectos. Since TRU are bastards who usually charge 10 bucks over retail on this set I paid 63.99 each. The price of the fuel there and back would of negated any savings. I did get to have a bit of driving fun in my old school WRX though :)

There's a DJs there too. I must have been 10 minutes too late ( i should have gone there before TRU) as they had 2 boxes of pretty fresh S13 and I arrived just in time to see a slovenly middle-aged Asian bloke walk away with 10 of them. He even told me not to bother looking, as he had felt up all the good ones. Bloody reseller scum! He then proceeded to buy all the Ulupatu (or whatever they are called) troopers battle packs on the shelf. It's my first time to see this type of creature in its natural habitat.

There is so much reseller hatred out there.  It is rank on the facebook groups where everyone thinks they should get everything at retail price or less - even if it is rare and discontinued. And they really only want it now that the value of the set has increased due to EOL. But they don't want to pay what it is now worth. We can't all have everything we want all of the time. Even if resellers didn't get stock , there would still not be enough to go around , and Lego would discontinue sets earlier. With most sets there is plenty of time and opportunity for most people to get one at retail.  They just have to put some effort into sourcing where to find them. Venting hatred on the reseller is not right. They are humans - not evil villians, and they come in all shapes and sizes.  Just my opinion.

Ryan Jnr, I have fallen in love with you....

But seriously, we are all on the FB pages as well (isn't that hard to work out who is who), and I agree completely. You can't comprehend how much I fume at posts on the BSS pages that ask for a LEGO Town Hall for a "reasonable price", sorry mate, that ship has long sailed.

I tend to class myself as a responsible reseller as I tend to stock my "offerings" from LEGO directly so that there is enough product for little timmy. However, I have a rule and once the requirements of that secret rule has been met, its open slather :)

Oh I didn't see your last part till then, I come in 6"2 Size and Batman shape ;)

One trick I figured out, but sadly only on the last day of the sale, was that Big W lists the Sale price of all sets on their website but only mentions the savings amount on the items you can purchase online. Thanks to this, I was able to talk my way into getting another 20% off the price of Brick Bounty. I was told they will only price match one item so could only get one for $82, but still a useful trick to keep in mind for next time they have a sale.

Thanks Alucard1982 . I thought I was doing alright at keeping my identity a secret.  I come in secret shape and secret size.  Resellers have excellent research skills.

hey guys - I'm sure you have noticed that Lego Shop are based overseas. My Cr Card provider ANZ charge about 3%!!! Which is a fair bit on a $300 set. Anyone find a work around or a Cr Card that doesn't charge these fees?

I haven't got one but as Jeff has said 28degrees. I've actively been bombarding ING's Facebook page about this. They have spend a mint to have Isla Fisher as their celebrity sponsor, so I think they can drop her and the fee. ING is good as you get 2% cash back on PayPass purchases ;)

There have been plenty of Pristine Ev, TIEs and Tumblers on shelves over here in the West. I'm really impressed with Target keeping the level of stock they have thoughout this toy sale. When Myer had their sale there was a definite co-ordinated reseller raid on the big ticket sets. We won't even talk about the Big W drop zone debacle.........

It is even worse when you don't have access to physical stores. The online section of these stores leaves a lot to be desired.

Yep all online stores in Oz have some sort of annoying issue that makes buying a real pain. If an item is out of stock, say so before making me click into each and every item to figure out what is in stock or what isn't! Hopefully one day Amazon lands in Australia then all our issues will be solved.
