That's great. I have been accumulating gift cards to use in our local stores/online by completing online surveys with a reputable mob. Joining is for free and they take little time to complete. Anything to help the addiction :nurse:.

Who's ready for the in store target sale? I have discovered that ties and tumblers have actually been removed and placed in the back for two stores for anyone interested at Doncaster Shopping town and Chirnside. Unsure if they will place these out on the floor, they actually have photo's on billboards at front. Why? It is  possible that we will have to run in and order them like a trampoline or cubby. 15 EV's still on a high shelf, must grab one.

best to grab and buy, last time i put a toy on layby they placed a large sticky label on the side. (Big W). This was to the death star. Was incredibly upset by this.

Ronan 46, does your local target have them on the floor?

I might give the target sale a miss, although I do want to pick up 7 or 8 Rainforest Animals.

I'm happy to grab a tumbler from LEGO Shop at Home, the rest doesn't interest me.

I have no idea, haven't been there yet. Just going to get in first thing and see what's there. I have never been able to find any Death Stars or Sandcrawlers in local Big Ws, any trick to knowing when they will have them? Chasing both of them. I'm in Perth FYG

i don't think we can find Death Stars anymore over here in Perth. They sold out a few months ago.(unless there are some stocks hiding behind somewhere?) i last saw them in some Big W and 1 TRU. As for sandcrawler, stock might be low now as the mid year toy sale just ended. Should be back a month or so before Xmas. No rush to get the sandcrawler? unless u want one badly?

I guess I missed the Mountain Hut Glitch. Can't win 'em all I guess. I'm not a quick flipper anyway and I don't see a lot of growth in that one. Still, if I had more time on my hands, I would have bought it. Work has been a bit busy atm, and that's my main bread and butter.

I was gonna resist the Target sale, but I live real close to my local and since (unlike Myer) they open early, I managed to get there before work. At 8 am, the store wasn't gutted (dunno if you guys saw the pic on FB with the Asian guy with no less than 8 TIE fighters in his trolley). There were 5 TIES, 3 EV and 2 Tumblers.

I went for the EV as this one is most likely to retire first and comes packed with minifigs. Many people say that it's not a great set, but at $309 I reckon it's a worthy investment for post-EOL.

yes, at 7.50 am the EV still had some presence, the tie fighters were placed high up on the shelves and were making some movement, the tumblers just tumbled straight out the store.Got an EV for investment and purchased the tie for a gift. Not so sure about the tumbler so I placed that on xmas layby. Anyone else thinking target could have knocked few dollars more off the tumbler. Think I may let that one go, prefer to wait for scooby doo stuff.

I'm not convinced by the Tumbler. It's just so black and featureless. To boot, 10% off is pretty weak. Also, the Dark Knight is old news (and this set is too recently released for my liking).

With the new SW film coming out, I reckon large exclusive SW sets are good investments. Mind you, I bought a couple of Snowpeeders for 35 bucks at the beginning of the year and now they are going for 70 bucks a pop on the open market. I'm still gonna hold onto them though. That set, plus the ISD and AT-AT have virtually disappeared from retail stores. I wonder if and when they will come back.

IMO, the tumbler has had its day for any worthwhile investment opportunities, I can seriously see this going the way of AA (stagnant growth after retirement)

Went to my local Target about half hour after opening, only 1 set of each on the shelves but staff were bringing more out when they were taken. Bought 1 of each for different reasons, EV hopefully EOL soon, TIE - ideal collector set, classic iconic ship and you can have the interceptor, Tie Advanced and this lined up on display and the Tumbler I had but box was damaged so got one as close to mint as you can from Target. How does the Layby work AFFOL, can you just say I don't want the set anymore and get your money back?

By the way hello, I've been addicted mainly to Star Wars UCS sets for a while and been on Brickpicker a little before but thought I should contribute what I can.

Hi, Target xmas Layby has a few conditions. If you cancel you will lose the $5 initial service fee  plus a further $10 as a restocking fee and the remainder will be returned to you. If you paid by cash, the money owing by target will be paid in cash. If you used card, it will be returned on the exact same card, if you dont have the card they will give you a credit voucher. If you keep the layby it is expected that you make regular two week instalments, and 50 % of total layby must be paid by 1st of October. To collect you must give them five days notice for it could be held off site, at most this would be five days before xmas, but really I would not leave it that late in the season for it could be delayed as it is so busy.

Rainforest animals. Cool set, the parrot has great playability.

Don't think so. Just wondering what everyone likes about that set. My child wanted one, and got one. I like the way it's wings move. You can feed it, and then it poops the feed out. Lego didn't advertise that on the box.  My child loves it!

Haha, it's ok. I had the exact same question on the FB page :) I have racked up millions of cats and monkeys, so I'll do a combo Christmas pack
